This is my sister’s dog Taylor. Taylor is addicted to catching a ratty old miniature soccer ball. Each time I go to the back yard and Taylor sees me she runs and gets her soccer ball. then runs up to me and drops it at my feet. Usually I kick it to her but she is too good a soccer player to let it get by her. So I try and kick it over her but she usually jumps and catches it. So today I picked up the ball and lobbed it high int he air and tried to capture what Taylor did. This is the one that came out the best. She caught the ball, of course.
Stephen the Dog one of my good friends of the canine persuasion challenged me to photograph something with a little more excitement than the flowers I have been shooting recently. He didn’t see much danger in what I was shooting. While my shots of Taylor certainly are not dangerous. I mean come on look at this face, she is a sweetheart.
I went with my sister Tara on a walk around the block with Taylor and Maggie. Along the way I did see a yard full of flowers and yes there were bees on the flowers. So I had to stop and snap a couple of shots of the bees and flowers. I liked this one the best.
Upon returning home I took a few more of the sunflowers, I didn’t really like the ones of the sunflowers I had been following and will try again tomorrow, but I did get this interesting shot of one other sunflower that will begin to bloom soon.
I have an idea that was suggested to me on Flickr and I want to try that out tomorrow. I have to hurry to get these shots too because the birds in the area take the fully bloomed sunflowers and snatch them up to drop them from a good height and eat all the seeds, we saw a poor sunflower that was decimated by the birds out in the driveway.
While I was at home and before I went for the walk I saw Duncan in one of the windows and since I had camera in hand I took his picture. I liked this expression the best. He has “serious face” in this photo.
Contest update: Mo has pulled into the lead over Lisa by a 5 point margin but the race is far from over. Lisa has some major points coming her way later this week I think. Lisa is really hustling for points and picking them up everywhere. But Mo is right there with her finding all the ways to steadily keep up. I think I need to add a few more interesting point options soon. Remember to get those comment points they certainly do add up. You can comment on any photo from the 16th of August on, they are fair game, and there are many photos that you can comment on. And not every photo is posted in these PAD posts. Sometimes I post additional photos just because, but they will always be at either Flickr, Zooomr or Buzznet. I have really enjoyed the dialogs that we have gotten going on those photo hosting sites. Some good stuff and I always respond to comments.
Taylor is beautiful!! Makes me want a dog…but with my job it would just be unfair to the poor thing. Someday…maybe.
Someday we will have a dog of our own too, but for now it is nice to have Taylor and Maggie around.
That is what I am talking about nice job drew
Any day that I can make Stephen happy as he reads my blog with his morning kibble is a good day in my book.
I like how you still included a flower anyway. LOL
I couldn’t help myself.
And where is the frisbee ???:-)
I’m not sure if we have tried a Frisbee with Taylor. I bet she could catch it too.
she looks like she could catch it easily.
I’m going to have to try that next time we go out and play.
I’m glad Stephen the Dog approves! Taylor is a beautiful dog!
Thank you, some days I live just to make Stephen happy. And Taylor is one in a million.
Yay! Flowers and animals! What a cute puppy! VERY photogenic!
Thanks Laurie,
I took a bunch yesterday that need to be added to the post.
Taylor looks like he’s having fun and in the 2nd photo she looks like she’s satisfied with her play time.
Taylor did have a good time, she loves playing, and I think she was a bit tuckered out after that.
