Eva and I received a copy of the latest Disney Learning app called Pooh’s Birthday Surprise. This is a cute little story based on Winnie the Pooh and teaches kids some early learning math and literary skills.
The App is very cute and it has many instances where children can interact with the app. Each page of the story has something that can be clicked or dragged or manipulated in some way. Kid’s have the chance to help Pooh’s friends prepare for a surprise birthday party for Pooh. They can do things like decorate cupcakes, wrap gifts and more. A strong emphasis on matching, sequencing and identifying shapes, colors and patterns. For instance there is a page where Tigger is at Rabbit’s house and he keeps swiping cupcakes but kids can help select new cupcakes to replace the ones Tigger eats.
The app is fun and even though I had to go to sleep for the afternoon (Working nights and all) Eva continued to play on her own usually a good sign of a fun app. We both enjoyed it. I have some additional info below about the app.
- Pooh’s Birthday Surprise (early literacy and pre-math skills)
Featuring the beloved characters of the Hundred-Acre Woods, this interactive storybook app invites kids to join in Pooh’s birthday party planning. The app aims to help children acquire and retain early literacy and pre-math skills at home and on-the-go through curriculum-based content and such activities as identifying and extending simple patterns, problem solving, vocabulary awareness, and story comprehension. The app is recommended for children ages 3-5.
Disclosure: I received the app to review and use. Opinions about it are 100% my own.
