An Iliad …

Tonight we took the kids to see a one man show called An Iliad. This was an interpretation of Homer’s epic poem. The play was performed by Bill Harley. This man is a singer songwriter that Allison has been following for years. Apparently he had kids shows over the years that Allison had wanted to take our kids to see but the timing never worked. When she saw that he was performing this play she suggested that we go. Both of the kids love Percy Jackson and Greek mythology and they also like theater. We knew that Eva would go for it but wasn’t as convinced that Andy would like it but we got 4 tickets and didn’t give them a choice.

Bill Harley’s performance was very powerful. Eva had so many thoughts and feelings on it afterwards. She even found a version of it on YouTube to share with one of her friends so that they could discuss. Andy also enjoyed the performance. It was very good. It blends the tal of Homer’s Iliad with the modern world. Bill’s performance was incredible, too. We all enjoyed it and discussed ti all the way home.

Eva’s Feehan Junior Year Father Daughter Dance …

Tonight was the Father Daughter Dance for Feehan and Eva and I went decked out in matching ties and vests. I even had a pocket square that complimented the set. We found a set with matching Vest, Tie, Pocket Square, Tie clips and cufflinks on Amazon and decided that this was the way we were going this year. Even though we got Eva the smallest size it needed some alteration. Eva worked on it herself along with her Sewing club this past week. They did a nice job getting the fit right.

The dance was at the Venus de Milo in Swansea and it was the first time that I’d been there for this event. the past years have been at Patriot Place Gillette Stadium. While I liked that venue this was a nice one too.

We sat with several of Eva’s friends and their dads. I even met one dad who was two years behind me at Feehan when I went there. He was attending his 8th one in a row since he has two daughters four years apart. The talk amongst the dads was better than past years for me. I enjoyed that. We also has Andy’s teacher from last year and we had a nice conversation.

Allison took our photos before we headed off to the dance. It was a very nice night.
