MASTERPIECE on PBS, Playground and BBC to Co-produce three-hour mini-series based on American Classic “Little Women”
Beloved Louisa May Alcott Book to be Adapted by Celebrated Writer Heidi Thomas

Boston, MA: May 4, 2017— PBS and MASTERPIECE have announced they will team with Colin Callender’s Playground and the BBC for a television adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s coming-of-age classic, Little Women. The three-part drama will be scripted by Heidi Thomas, well-known to PBS audiences for her acclaimed adaptations of Call the Midwife and Cranford. Vanessa Caswill (Thirteen, My Mad Fat Diary) will direct all three hours. Playground’s Golden Globe-winning adaptation of Wolf Hall aired on MASTERPIECE in 2015.

“There are only a handful of American books that have resonated with readers for as long as Little Women,” said Rebecca Eaton, MASTERPIECE executive producer. “To put this deeply moving story in the hands of a writer with the heart and depth of Heidi Thomas seems just right. And Colin Callender will oversee this production with the magic he brings to everything he touches, whether its Wolf Hall or the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, currently selling out in London.” MASTERPIECE is presented on PBS by WGBH Boston. New Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Special – Tiger Family Trip

One week from today the Tiger Family from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is taking a trip. even if I wasn’t a PBS Kids VIP (Very Involved Parent) I would know this information. Andrew has told me about the special over and over. He’s quite excited about watching it as well. I’m interested in seeing what sort of strategies the family uses with Daniel and his baby sister on their trip.

Seasonal Special Kicks Off a Week of All-New Episodes of the Series

Arlington, VA, April 13, 2017 – Buckle up for an all-new DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD one-hour special when “Tiger Family Trip” premieres Monday, May 8, on PBS KIDS. As many families prepare to travel during the spring and summer, Daniel and his family embark on a first and memorable road trip, helping preschoolers learn key skills and strategies as they experience their first trips. In “Tiger Family Trip,” Daniel is excited about his road trip adventure to visit Grandpere, but he doesn’t know what to expect during the long car ride. With Mom Tiger’s assistance, Daniel experiences new sights and activities and learns about the many exciting things to do and see when you’re on a trip with your family.

“We’re thrilled families across the country will be able to join us on ‘Tiger Family Trip’ as Daniel deals with new and exciting experiences,” said Lesli Rotenberg, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Children’s Media and Education, PBS. “As research continues to show the positive effects DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD has on children’s social and emotional learning, we hope this one-hour special will offer helpful road trip strategies for families on the go.”
Produced by The Fred Rogers Company, the Emmy-nominated DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD teaches preschoolers practical strategies and skills necessary for growing and learning. A recent study showed that kids who watched DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD had higher levels of empathy, were better at recognizing emotions, and were more confident in social situations.
