DVD Review: The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar

Andrew with The Lion Guard

Andrew and I watched The Lion Guard together when it first debuted on Disney Junior. This was a cute new story about the second born cub of Simba and Nala, Kion. This male cub was making his way in the world and learning about the Pridelands. Through the first episode Kion finds his roar and what a powerful roar it is because with it are the roars of those from the Lion Guard before him. He becomes protector of the Pridelands and assembles a team of his friends to become the new Lion Guard. The thing is, Kion’s friends are not lions. There is a hippo, a bird, a honey badger and a cheetah. Each of these characters brings with them their own skills to help the Lion Guard protect the Pridelands. This DVD is of the first two episodes that are basically an introductory, origin story movie. A great point to jump into the series.
