Father’s Day 2014

Photo-A-Day #3355

For Father’s Day I wanted a few simple things. Breakfast with the family, a water gun and balloon battle, a hike and something tasty for dinner. It was a good Father’s Day.

Happy Dad!

My Dad made us a tasty breakfast and we hung around the house for a while in the morning. Eva and I went over to the beach so that I could photograph more Safari Ltd. marine toys. I had my Sea Dragon, a Starfish and a Blue Crab to shoot. We had fun working together on that.

Real or Safari Limited

I had a Nerf Super Soaker Crossbow to review and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles water toy to review as well. But that was not enough so I bought five more Super Soakers including one battery operated one so it would be easier for the kids. I also had some water balloons and a water balloon pump that I’d been carrying around for a while. I loaded up all the water guns and also filled three buckets of water balloons and we were ready.

Almost Water War!

The kids got into their swim suits and so did Allison and I. My Dad got into the action as well and had a great little sparring match with Eva. I just love the look on both their faces in the photo today, they are having so much fun. The kids loved playing with their Grandfather even if it was for a little while. then they turned their attention and their water guns towards Allison and me.

We played for a while and made more water balloons, refilled the guns and kept playing. Then we headed to the beach for a little while because Eva wanted to go. It was nice at the beach, just wish it was a little warmer to go swimming.

We left the beach got showered and headed home but not before we went to a Audobon Society trail to do a little hike. I had Andrew in a backpack seat and he was sound asleep with his head forcing my neck to bend. I think if he was awake I would have enjoyed that a little better. Our hike was cut short because Eva’s feet were not doing so hot. She got a blister yesterday and now she is in a lot of pain.

I did venture down to the pond and found a frog. Wish I had my telephoto lens with me.

We headed off Cape and went for a tasty dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. The wings were okay but next time we’ll have to ask for extra crispy like they do at Eagle Brook Saloon. Or just go to Eagle Brook Saloon next time.

After dinner we got home and it was still early so we watched Despicable Me 2. It was funny and cute and the kids loved it up until the minions got turned purple. then Eva was having nothing more to do with the movie. But she did watch till the end.

Allison and I capped off the day by watching the finale of Game of Thrones. What an episode!

It was a very good day.
