Each year I take my daughter to breakfast on her birthday. Today started out were we were going to do that very thing. However, halfway to Northworks my car got a flat. Or maybe it had a flat earlier than that but decided to go all the way flat and really cause trouble today. I figured, maybe I’d get some air in it and we’d be on our way. Nope. Air would not go in. So, I called Allison to take Eva to school. I called AAA to come fix the tire. Eva and I had a make the best of it breakfast of Cumberland farms snacks like mini donuts and a lemon pie. It was not the birthday breakfast that we wanted to have together and she was devastated. But she learned a valuable lesson about rolling with things. So did I, I was majorly disappointed as well.
The tire got fixed, I picked up Andrew from Allison at the school, before school started, and we went to get a new tire, a haircut (for him) and many more errands to run before Eva’s big Birthday party, tomorrow.
Andrew was great with all the errands. He was even very good during his haircut. I even got a nap out of him, which is something I needed after the crazy morning and all the errands.
We celebrated Eva’s 7th birthday today with dinner at House of Fortune with the family and my Mom, and later my sister, Tara. Then we came home and had some cupcakes that Allison made for the party. Allison really did a phenomenal job on the cake which was a Monster in orange and purple as drawn by Eva.
The cake was huge, too. Two layers and tons of frosting. Allison worked really hard making the cake, I hope that Eva likes it. Sometimes things don’t live up to her expectations.
