Hydrangea in Contemplation

Photo-A-Day #1914

It was a quiet day after the 4th of July for us. We lazed around the Cape house for a bit, went to the beach and I even took a nap.

We started off the morning hanging around the front porch talking about the fireworks the night before. We had a great time at the fireworks and even though Eva and Allison left after the second huge boomer they still enjoyed them from the 3rd floor of the house through the windows where the sounds weren’t as loud. The poor kid was all excited and then the booms happened and she freaked. I don’t know why we hadn’t anticipated this. Next year we’ll have some safety ear protection for her. She was none the worse for wear because she liked them and told everyone about them all day long.

With the 4th being over much of the beach was cleared out. We were able to go over and get a nice clear space and just enjoy being at the beach. Eva has a little love/hate relationship with the ocean. She loves it once she is in and getting thrown in the air by me or spinning around and trying to swim a little, however getting in is not fun. She got knocked over by the waves on Memorial day and hasn’t let us forget it.

After the beach Eva and I took a nice long nap. I knew she was tired and I was exhausted so I fired up the Princess and the Frog on the iPad and we laid down on the goldilocks/princess bed. I’m pretty sure we were both gone before Tiana was turned into a frog. We needed the sleep.

We had a nice dinner with my mom and then Allison and I packed up for home. Eva is going to spend two days with Memere on her own. I hope she is not too homesick, however if Memere keeps giving her Popsicles at 8:30am I don’t think Eva’s gonna be too stressed about us not being there.

  1. so cute..
but reminds me…why will my Blue Nikko never bloom?? It’s at least 5-6 years old and always grows new foliage…looks green and healthy. but never any flowers. I’m in Zone 5 and admittedly it’s a zone 6 plant, but have seen others in neighborhood growing & blossoming…*sigh*

    1. Kendra,
Not sure what a Blue Nikko is or what Zone 5 or Zone 6 are. Not a green thumb I guess, I just shoot photos of flowers that look pretty to me. Our Hydrangeas are blooming like mad at the house though.
