Today I am in Indiana and I was able to go and visit with Karen from The Pond and Tina from Tina’s Treasured Thoughts. You can see them both in today’s photo, Karen on the Left and Tina on the right.
Karen had seen that I was going to be in Indiana and asked me which part and come to find out I would be driving right by where she lived so she invited me for a visit. Then her friend Tina asked to come over and meet me as well. I had a great time talking with Karen and Lynn about all sorts of things and especially blogging. It is great when you connect with people and realize that behind each blog there is a person there who has great ideas and wants to share them with other people. It was also good to talk about things and feel validated on what I was thinking on different subjects with regards to blogging.
I stayed for a couple of hours and Tina and her husband Jack came over around 5:00. We chatted for a bit more and Karen brought out my 2008 Photo-A-Day calendar, Tina liked it so much she is going to order a few. I was going to retire the calendar but I hadn’t gotten around to it.
And all too soon I had to get going, I took a photo of Karen and Tina and then Lynn took one of Tina, Me and Karen.
Karen also gave me a sweet gift bag for Eva. It included a cute hat for the Indianapolis colts and a great book I can read to Eva. I’m not sure if Eva’s uncles will let her wear the hat but since I’m not a gung ho sports fan I say go ahead and wear it, it is a very cute hat for my little girl. I had another great day with some fellow Posties who are such down to earth nice people. Thanks for the great hospitality! Looking forward to another visit or convention.
Tonight I got to Kokomo and caught up with the other demonstrators for dinner. We had a great meal at Outback and then out came the camera.

Oh what a cool and fun visit! I recognize that quilt 😉 I’ve known Karen online for 10 YEARS coming up in March. She’s a great person.
I’m not sure of your path through Indiana, but I’m in NWI. Just moved here from Indianapolis!
10 Years that is awesome. It must have been cool to meet at blog world/postiecon if you hadn’t already done so in the past. And I agree Karen is wonderful.
Hi corrin,
I’m actually in Kokomo for the next few days and then head to Indy. I’m not sure where NWI is though. North West Indiana? I’m not very familiar with the state, I just go where they tell me to go. Thanks for the comment.
Drew – That was our first time meeting! You didn’t hear me scream when she walked in? LOL!
I totally missed that, I have to open my eyes and ears more.
I think Corrin’s NWI is north west Indianapolis. I wish I’d have realized– Karen’s not horribly far away from here!
Hi Drew, It was so nice to meet you and as always I love all your photos. Guess Karen and I didn’t break the camera after all. Trust you are doing good today. And, yes it is nice to meet real people who blog. Thanks for coming to Peru, Indiana, the Circus Capital of The World. Like Karen, said you will have to come in June and bring Eva to see our great Circus put on by local people. It is awesome. So long for now. Don’t know how you keep up with everything. I am amazed.
That is so awesome that you are getting to visit with all these fellow bloggers! Great pictures and such a cool way to document your travels. Not to mention, it’s the first time I’ve seen Tina since she had her surgery, she looks terrific. Glad you didn’t get snowed in. 😀
Oh, now I get it. I’m not up on all the mnemonics for local areas.
Thanks Tina, it was very nice to meet you as well. I wish I had been able to get there sooner to explore and photograph downtown Peru. It sounded like there was much to see.
I haven’t gotten snowed in, yet, but I am in Indiana till Friday, looks like I might be stuck with the impending weather.
I have been very happy to have been able to do much traveling, the visiting has been big fun.
Hey Drew… you’ve started your own ‘postie patrol’ already – that’s awesome – now you have a ‘portfolio’ to present!!!
AND, just look at the background in your photos – another of Karen’s beautiful quilts – very, very nice 🙂
Are all the photos on the calendar your own?!
ADQ
Yep, started doing my own tour of bloggers. I should do more and really build up a portfolio. Maybe I could do some Postie Patrols too. I believe that quilt was one that Karen’s mom had made. It was beautiful.
Kango Mom,
They are all mine. Certainly.
I am so thrilled that we got to meet up again, Drew. Eva has a very special Daddy. Yep, my mom made that quilt for Greg for his high school graduation. Maybe he will forget and I’ll get to keep it. You will let Eva wear that Colt’s hat, right?
Karen,
I will certainly let her wear the hat. Just not when the Pats play the Colts, (bad luck). I am actually the least sports minded person ever.
Thanks very much for such awesome hospitality. It is funny that you were so close to where I was today as well.
Maybe Greg will forget but if he reads these comments he will remember.
looks terrific. Glad you didn’t get snowed in.
Komik Resimler’s last blog post..Allah
Yeah getting snowed in would have sucked.
