Today I traveled to Austin for the PBS Annual meeting as part of the PBS Kids V.I.P.(Very Involved Parent) Program. This is my fourth time attending the annual meeting and my first time to Austin. I was pretty excited to get to Austin and check it out. I hear such good things about it every year from people who go to SXSW. I haven’t seen any of the famous food trucks though. Not that I need to (because we are eating really well) but it would be cool to check them out.
My friend, Jeff Bogle, from Out With the Kids and the Dad.FM podcast is also here. We took a walk around the area to take some photos. We’re both part of the Imagelogger program and captured some fun images.
Part of the event was a mixer with station representatives at the hotel. We had delicious guacamole, queso dip, salsa and chips plus some mini carnitas tacos.
Then we went over to Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater where we heard three live bands, enjoyed some tasty food and desserts. Our hosts were the local PBS affiliate KLRU. They had a fun photo op with the Willie Nelson statue.
KLRU had excellent desserts including these fun guitar shaped cookies.
The theater was nice. I walked all over the place. The music was fun and near the end of the event I asked my friend Aimee of Greeblehaus to take a photo of the Dad Bloggers who were at the event.
Upon leaving I took another shot of the Willie Nelson statue.
After visiting Austin City Limits Live we had dinner at La Condesa. The restaurant provided us with many options to sample. My favorite were the beef short ribs and the spicy ice cream and flourless cake dessert. I had a great time talking with other bloggers and enjoying great conversations.
