One thing that I learned more about while reading Attention was that Recycling older content can be worthwhile. Yesterday I started doing that by creating my first ever Photo-A-Day Podcast. I took my very first posts from the Photo-A-Day project and talked about each image. One of the images was of a Snoopy Latch-hook that my aunt made me. Tonight while looking for something to shoot I saw it wedged next to the filing cabinet and this photo is of the back of it.
So after creating that video yesterday I thought of so many ways in which I could improve upon it and yet haven’t recorded anything new to do that. For instance the opening is way too long and drawn out with a voice-over instead of an actual video of me. I will change that for future episodes. I think the quick 45 second to 1 minute messages about each photo works. That is what I am trying to do, something very quick on each one, not too much and not too little. I’m going to actively search out some sponsors once the ball starts rolling and I make this an actual podcast and get guests for each episode. I figure I can get ahead an record a few voice overs on photos at a time and save the audio files as the number of the photo-a-day image. I also have to learn a bit more about audacity. It is pretty simple but has so much more potential. |

I think that I also should record more observations and thoughts away from the computer and so I got myself (well it is on order) a Zoom H1 Handy Portable Digital Recorder (Aff Link). With this I can record better audio for videos, in person interviews and more. I see a lot of potential in this project and how using my older content can really give it new life and appeal to a new audience and give all of you guys who already read this something new.
What do you think of the video series/podcast idea?
How can I improve upon it?
I’m beginning to write a new ebook too. This will be filled with content that I will be sharing at Modern Media Man in September and also at Blog World Expo in October. The schedule for BWE10 was just released and I am up against the big money super panel. I hope that there will be people who want to see more on how content like photos and videos can help increase traffic to their blogs and also make them more attractive and personal places to visit.
