This is a sponsored post compensated by Pley. Opinions of the service are my own as I have tried it in my own home.
The other day I talked about how my office is full of clutter. The clutter is mine and my daughter Eva’s. I have half of the things from her room before we organized it and moved some things around. However, once it is all moved back there then we are going to be fighting the same battles in both rooms again. That is, unless we clear up the clutter. I review toys. I review a lot of toys and many of them get added to the kids’ or my own collections. Some we give away but not nearly enough to stem the tide of the clutter. So I look for ways in which to decrease the amount of overall clutter in the house. One way that we can do this is to subscribe to Pley.
What is Pley? Well, it is a service that you can subscribe to and have access to a large selection of educative toys, including 400+ LEGO sets and popular robotics toys. More toys are being launched in the next few months. I received a survey as to some of the other toys that I thought would be something that I’d like to get from Pley in the future. One choice was Transformers. As you know, I have a huge Transformers collection. I’ve only really posted the images a few times because I had to have the entire apartment (yes way back when I had an apartment) cleared out, including my wife, to showcase them. That is something that takes up a ton of space. So much space that I have about 14 giant plastic containers of Transformers in my parent’s attic. I need to move them over to mine for my Transformers Tuesdays. But if there was a service like Pley where I could pay a subscription fee and get as many Transformers as I wanted each month to play with, photograph and vlog about then the cost to me would be very low. Plus the amount of space I would save would be astronomical.
However, right now Pley has primarily LEGO and that is also something that we have in bulk. A couple of years ago I went crazy buying LEGO sets and well, I have way too many. I don’t even count the two giant boxes of unopened Star Wars sets in the basement. I did that for a while so I don’t have all of the newest ones from the new movie, or The Clone Wars or even Star Wars Rebels, which is what my daughter is really into. So, a service like Pley where we could get sets like the LEGO Star Wars Republic Striker-class Starfighter featuring a female Jedi, Satele Shan, would be awesome. I never got that set myself and we probably wouldn’t be a able to find it otherwise so instead we get it through Pley, Eva gets to have an adventure with it and then she moves on to something new and we didn’t have to buy it outright.
Key benefits of Pley:
- Pley offers access to a large selection of educative toys, including 400+ LEGO sets and popular robotics toys. More toys are being launched in the next few months. Stay tuned for updates!
- Pley is always on the hunt for the best toys, so our assortment reflects the latest and greatest toys.
- All these toys come at a low price point vs. buying toys. Average members save ~$800/year.
- It’s really convenient and helps reduce clutter: Pley packages get delivered to your door and when the kids are done playing, they can return them for a new toy. No more toys sitting unused on shelves!
- The savings in plastic alone from reduced purchases amounts to at least 240lbs fewer C02 emissions per annum per Pley member. And while the Pley business model relies heavily on shipping, we usually take advantage of trucks already on the road. If anything, our shipments are smaller than the typical Amazon package for the same LEGO set (Pley re-package them in smaller bags). Also, Pley helps reduce CO2 emissions from cars going to malls/stores to buy toys.
- Besides having access to a variety of toys, kids learn the concepts of sharing and reducing waste for the environment.
- Pley makes a fantastic gift! Shoppers can either gift unlimited subscriptions or gift cards!
