We received a couple of LEGO sets from Pley.com to used and review. Opinions of the service are 100% our own. Pley is a LEGO rental service. You can choose from a $19 a month subscription to try as many of the 150 sets (so far) that you want, one at a time. You can upgrade to the $45 subscription and get to choose from over 300 LEGO sets. There are a ton of choices, too.

First you created an account and then set up a Pleylist of the sets that you want to use. Once your selections are created you’ll start receiving sets to play with and return. Finish with a set and then send it back to get the next set.

Sets arrive in a Pleybox which you can use to organize your bricks as you assemble your set. I’m not sure if a Pleybox is shipped every time or not but they are pretty nice. You also get a bracelet that you can use to affix bricks. I guess you’d use this for those special bricks that you might lose. You also get a brick separator to use to disassemble the toy before you ship it back to Pley.

The service is a brilliant idea. One year I literally spent $1,000 on LEGO sets I built each set and took it apart and stored it away. I could have subscribed to Pley at the Master level and saved a bunch of money and had been able to play with all those same sets. Plus, when I was done there would be need to store thousands of bricks.

The bricks arrived clean and we had almost all the pieces. We tried the LEGO Friends Cafe and it was missing 4 of the specialty pieces like knives, a mixer and a spatula. When a set arrives missing pieces then Pleyers can play detective and report the missing pieces on the Pley Website. Being a Pley Detective can win kids their very own set of LEGO. You can also share photos of your creations on the Pley.com website or through the Pley Social Media channels. I can see this service exploding. I’d offer this as a bit of advice for Pley.com, though. Take each instruction set and laminate the entire thing. Rebind it and then include it in the box. It makes for easier cleaning and would extend the life of the manual.
