SwagsGiving may have ended a few months ago but I had one more very cool prize that I am happy to give away. I got a MEGA Bloks Need For Speed Custom Garage to give away. Need for Speed is a very hot racing game for your gaming consoles and MEGA Bloks captures these amazing cars with their custom garage and other building sets. Eva and I tested out the NFS Custom Garage today and found it to be a pretty fun playset.
Opening the set I was impressed with how the blocks were packaged. There were perforated tear strips on each bag that made it super simple to access the bloks. I didn’t discover this right away but rather had my trusty box cutter with me to slice open the plastic packages. I didn’t need it at all come to find out. Oh well, live and learn.
Assembly was very simple and yet I felt that there was ample challenge and play time to assemble the entire custom garage. Although it might have felt longer because Eva continued to ask me when we would put this piece or that piece into the set. She was excited about playing with the car when I finished assembling that and she chose what wheels would be put onto the car. She was very impressed with herself for that one. She decided to go with a combination of silver rims and black rims.
The garage has a few options for you to customize the car. There are two sets of tires and rims, two hoods, two front bumpers and two backs, either a spoiler or a fast back. The garage is more of a showcase room for the car. The car drives up a ramp and onto a rotating floor so that you can view the car as it spins (manually) in a 360. The car that comes with the set is the Audi R8. It is a 1:38 scale model. There are some additional 1:38 scale models that you can also purchase and use with this custom garage.
Assembly was fun, quality is decent and playability is fun. Plus it has really sweet cars.

This is awesome. I would love to have that set of MEGA Bloks for my kid. He always wanted to have a set of that and i cannot think of anything good to give to him in his birthday next month. It really looks and a part of myself wanted to go back as a kid and play those kind of stuffs. I miss my childhood years.

My son checked them all out and loved the mclaren MP4-12C best! The though that it looked like a really cool police car!
