Second Chances

Photo-A-Day #1855

General has been with our family for a couple of days now. He arrived yesterday. He was in rough shape. He’s had to have two good solid groomings. He’s been eating well and has to bulk up. He’s 38lbs right now, Tara lifts him up and down from stairs in and out of the car. He most likely has hip dysplasia. General also has a tumor on his eye that needs care. I hung out with Tara and General and Taylor in the backyard for a while to take a few photos. General was up and about this time today. He sort of walks a little sideways.

After seeing General I headed over to CVS to pick up a few things and drop off some disposable cameras of Allison’s from her Florida trip. As I was riding along suddenly the car ahead of me stopped. I saw what I thought was a cat speed across the road. The car ahead of me didn’t move. As I was wondering I saw movement under the car in front of me and also noticed that what I thought was a cat was really a fox, a mother fox. The foxes’ kit was scared and huddling under the car. For a little while the guy in front of me was unsure of what to do. The kit was right in the middle.

I waved the guy to move ahead slowly, however the kit kept moving ahead and stayed under the car. He tried to coax the kit out from under his car, then another person tried to help but they were not really that helpful or effective. The police

showed up and waved me on so I didn’t get to see what happened. I hope the kit ran off after its mother. There was nothing around when I came back by. Luckily I had my camera with me and snapped this shot of the mother fox.

Mother Fox

Allison took Eva to see Dora the Explorer Live at PPAC. While they were gone I decided to go to Route One Cinema Pub and see Hot Tub Time Machine. It was a really funny movie. I enjoyed the heck out of it. I love how they played with the Space-Time continuum. I also liked how there were some subtle throwbacks to some old John Cusack movies. Craig Robinson is slowly becoming one of the funnier people I’ve seen in a long time. He was absolutely hilarious during The Office last night.

I got this one other shot of General that I liked.

  1. I think it was wonderful of Tara to take in poor General. So many animals need help, not enough people to give it. He is a beautiful dog.
.-= Look at what Christine wrote blog ..More dumb crap =-.

  2. Great picture of that fox. Hopefully the little one caught up with it’s mother. If anyone can get General back in shape, Tara can.

    1. Dad, you are right. Tara is the one who can help General. I hope that the two cops and two guys who were trying to coax the fox from under the car were able to do so. I probably should have gone up the next street and parked and taken more citizen journalist photos of what happened.
