Review: The IDO3D Vertical 3D Drawing Pens

IDO3D VerticalWe review the IDO3D Vertical 3D Drawing Pens. We received this from RedwoodVentures for free in order to play with and provide an honest review. Opinions are 100% my own.

The IDO3D Vertical was a fun experiment with the kids. They had a nice time creating all sorts of things. Eva filled up the plastic mold for a face of a character instead of using the outside. She wanted to make a cauldron because she has been reading Harry Potter and so that was a big influence on her creations. She also made a wand. Andrew was way more freeform in his creating. He went vertical and created some fun things.

I think that the IDO3D Vertical would be great for an older kid. Eva is at the right age to start using this but Andrew needs a few more years to really get the hand of it. It is a nice product for kids to get crazy creative. It does take some finesse and practice but it was still fun for the kids.

Here is the official description of the IDO3D Vertical and then our video review: IDO3D Vertical enables children to draw and sculpt in mid-air using cool 3D ink that turns from liquid to solid instantly! Kids can use the familiar form factor of a pen to draw numerous designs, either from their own imagination or from the 3D Guidebooks that are included with each set. IDO3D Vertical includes a variety of colors, themes and activity packs.

I received an AtmosFlare 3D Drawing Pen to try out and review. Opinions are 100% my own.

I tried out this 3D Drawing pen and found it very easy to use. You get everything that you need to start creating in 3 dimensions. The starter pack that I got contained the AtmosFlare pen plus both red and blue inks and several drawing tips as well as a AA battery to get you started.

To use you take a refill ink cartridge and unscrew the cap then screw on one of the drawing tips. Then you can put the ink cartridge into the pen easily. Next you start to squeeze the cartridge and that will push out the ink. Next click on the LED light which will cure the ink and make it solid. Draw however you’d like, even straight into the air. Swapping out cartridges is very simple. A starter package has an MSRP of $29.99 and is recommended for ages 14 and up. I’m pretty sure that someone who has more artistic talent than I do will be able to create some amazing stuff with the AtmosFlare 3D Drawing Pen.
