New Moana Trailer is Full of Epic Beauty and Action

Moana and Maui

Have you seen the most recent Moana trailer? It was released today and it is beautiful. This is going to be one amazing sweeping epic that will inspire both girls and boys. Moana herself is beautiful and strong. Maui is a riot. Dwayne Johnson is perfectly cast as Maui. He’s got amazing delivery in his lines and the personality shines through the animated character. Between the two of these characters we will get such a fun story.

Check out the trailer to see what I’m talking about.

New Olympics TV Spot for Disney’s MOANA

MOANA

Viewers of the 2016 Rio Olympics were treated to a new TV spot for the upcoming Disney animated movie, MOANA. This movie looks like it is going to be an incredible adventure film to inspire young viewer, especially girls. The film stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui, once-mighty demigod. It also stars newcomer Auli’i Cravalho as the title character of MOANA, pronounced MO-AH-NAH. I kept getting the pronunciation wrong but after visiting the Hokulea back on July 4th I did get a few tips on pronouncing Hawaiian names. I am now sure but there seems to be a tie in between the Hokulea and Moana in such that Moana is on a sailing quest to be a master wayfinder.

Maui

The thing with the Hokulea is that the sailing crew does not use modern instruments but rather the traditional and almost lost skills of sailing the open ocean and using the wind, birds, waves and stars to guide them. It looks to me that MOANA is set in a time when there were no modern instruments and she will have to navigate using those skills as well. I don’t know for sure if there is any tie between the two entities but that would make a fantastic connection between the real world and the mission of the Hokulea and this upcoming incredible story.

You can see the TV Spot here.

The Teaser Trailer for Moana has been Released

The Moana Poster

I just watched the teaser trailer for the upcoming Disney movie, Moana. It features the demi-god Maui heavily. Maui is being played by Dwanye Johnson and you have to watch closely because Maui pulls out one of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s signature moves. No, it is not “The People’s Elbow” but rather “The People’s Eybrow”. I laughed out loud when I saw it and realized what I was seeing. I used to be a heavy WWE fan at the height of The Rock’s popularity and I saw plenty of use out of that eyebrow.

I’m a very big fan of Dwayne Johnson which started with the WWE but continued on through his various roles in movies. I am also a big fan of Ballers on HBO which showcases his humorous acting ability and I’ve pretty much seen every movie that he has been in like the Fast and Furious ones, The Rundown and so many more. I’ll definitely be bringing the family to see this one when it releases. Check out the trailer below.

Eva’s Fifth TYT Play Kid’s Aladdin

Our little actress
Photo-A-Day #3988

Eva was in her fifth play with the Triboro Youth Theater. She has really enjoyed being a part of it. She did a great job and stayed happy and smiling throughout the whole play. My Aunt Donna had front row tickets so she gave me one and I was able to take some photos of the play. Eva was on the opposite side so the photos weren’t just of her alone and I can’t post them, but I got photos after the play of Eva on the stage by herself. The next one isn’t until the Fall. I am looking forward to seeing what she does next.

WALT DISNEY ANIMATION STUDIOS SETS SAIL WITH “MOANA”

Ron Clements and John Musker (“Aladdin,” “The Princess and the Frog”) Helm the Epic Comedy-Adventure

BURBANK, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2014) Walt Disney Animation Studios revealed plans today for “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated comedy-adventure about a spirited teenager on an impossible mission to fulfill her ancestors’ quest. In theaters in late 2016, the film is directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Aladdin”).

“John and I have partnered on so many films—from ‘The Little Mermaid’ to ‘Aladdin’ to ‘The Princess and the Frog,’” said Clements. “Creating ‘Moana’ is one of the great thrills of our career. It’s a big adventure set in this beautiful world of Oceania.”

In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.

“Moana is indomitable, passionate and a dreamer with a unique connection to the ocean itself,” Musker said. “She’s the kind of character we all root for, and we can’t wait to introduce her to audiences.”

Dreams of Gliding over the Ice

Gliding over the ice
Photo-A-Day #2091

Today we took Eva to see Disney on Ice. She was very excited to see the Princesses skate. She’s seen the commercial many times and each time she says that she’d like to slide on the ice. I think maybe some little skating lessons might be in her future, we’ll see. I’m nervous enough when she’s walking down the street, I can just imagine how I’d fare watching her on a slippery, hard and unforgiving surface. Continue reading Dreams of Gliding over the Ice
