I just watched this great video about the outcome of the MARVEL’S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – GIRLS REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE. The video shows the 5 young women who were the finalists for the challenge. It also reveals the Grand Prize Winner who will participate in a week-long internship at Marvel Studios. That is some pretty amazing stuff and each of the young women had a great S.T.E.M. idea that they presented. The video shows the women on a Walt Disney Studios tour, walking the red carpet for Captain America: Civil War and more.
This video is going to be a must watch for Eva. I know that she loves Science, Technology, Engineering and Math but to see young women who are creating amazing things with it is an inspiration not to be missed. This challenge was an exciting one and when Eva gets older I hope that there will e something like this where she can participate as well.
Here is a new video with Elizabeth Olsen (“Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch”) and Emily VanCamp (“Sharon Carter / Agent 13”) sharing more information about this program and the finalists:
I have been waiting months for the new Marvel Collector Corps box to arrive. I buy this on my own and have had the subscription for the past year. I’m actually a founder to the program and because of that I get a special statue at the end of each year. I renewed for this year and I am excited for what is coming. We start the year with Captain America: Civil War and the next box in two months, is Women of Power. I don’t know what the August Box will be but I bet the October one will be Doctor Strange. That will be cool.
However, this month the theme of the box is Captain America: Civil War. This box contains a whole bunch of great things surrounding the movie. There is a great T-Shirt that is split down the middle for the two teams and prominently shows two of the female characters, which is something that I’ve noticed with Funko. They are aware of the fact that the female characters are underrepresented in most toys and I’m always glad that they have the female figures so that I can get them for Eva.
The box also contains the patch and the pin. This time the patch has Crossbones on it and the pin has Black Panther. The exclusive comic book cover depicts a Funko Black Panther vs. a Funko Captain America. There is also a second year lanyard to put the pins on and then there was an exclusive Iron Man Dorbz that had the visor flipped up. The major piece in the box was an exclusive two pack of Iron Man vs. Captain America Funko Pop figures in exclusive poses. Iron Man is on a clear stand and it looks like he is flying and Cap is turned to the side with his shield out. They look great. Check them out in the video below.
