The Blind Bag Trap

Iron Man and Captain America
Photo-A-Day #4226

I have a love/hate relationship with blind bags. They are exciting to open to see if you have found a chase character or a duplicate. The more blind bags you have the more chances you have of getting all the figures that you want, but there is also a higher chance of getting duplicates. I picked up a bunch of Funko Mystery Minis (Blind Bags) of Captain America Civil war characters on clearance at a couple of GameStop stores. Last night I found the rest of them at the last of the GameStops that are near me. I have all the figures except for three of them. I figured that I’d find at least one of them with this latest batch, but no. Not one new one and I even found two of the same ones. Ant-Man. I love the character but not 4 of them. So, that is the trap of Blind Bags. It is like toy gambling. It can be exciting but also disappointing.

So, now I have to figure out how to find those last three figures without taking more chances on blind bags.

Andrew Does Intros and #Unboxing Funko Captain America Civil War Mystery Minis

Andrew wanted to get back onto the blog today and so after he made his lunch he went and gave a little intro to the show. He’s been watching a lot of YouTube Kids and is picking up some cool tips. He’s ready for the camera. Such personality in this kid.

I think that helped pep me up for the videos tonight. I actually did a couple of them tonight, my regular vlog one and also one for the 5-Minute Dungeon game.

Before picking Andrew up from school I stopped at GameStop where I found 7 more Captain America Civil War Funko Mystery Minis on clearance. You’ll have to watch the video to see if I found all 5 of the mystery minis that I am missing. I also found a Star Wars Hot Wheels character that I’ve been looking for for a while and it was only $1.99. Great price on that! See what I found on the vlog.

A few weeks ago I was at Gamestop and I noticed that the Captain America Civil War Mystery Minis were marked on clearance to $3. Normally these are between $5 and $7. I jumped at the chance to buy them and picked up the 7 that they had in the store. I kept meaning to check out some of the other GameStop stores around to see if they any others on clearance. There are twelve characters in total to collect and that is always a tough thing with blind bags. You don’t know what you are going to get and to spend $7 and get the same guy again, well that is frustrating. At least there are no chase figures in this series. Check out the video to see how I did or just use math and look at the image above. 🙂

I was lucky enough to have no doubles in my unboxing event.

Let Me Take You To…

Chibi Robo amiibo

I went back over the things that I had talked about yesterday in my lost footage. Mostly they were books, toys and games that I had either been sent or had purchased. I had gone to Target this past week and I picked up the Nintendo 3DS game Chibi Robo which came with the Chibi Robo amiibo character. This originally went for $39.99 but I got it for $11 which is a good price for an amiibo character and game. This will work with my new Nintendo 3Ds XL that I won last month. It looks like a cute little side scrolling game, too.

I also show the two Hot Wheels 5-Packs that I picked up. There was a Captain america Civil War 5-Park and a Batman V. Superman 5-Pack. While I like the Marvel one better the DC one wasn’t half bad and had a decent looking Superman car in it, too. That is a good thing since almost all the other Superman ones are terrible.

I also show some of the new Elena of Avalor books that Disney Publishing sent me. they send me books all the time to read and review. These are nice ones that will be on shelves October 18. One book is already in stores, the Felize Navidad one.Elena of Avalor Books

Unboxing Captain America Civil War Wild Card Funko Pops

All of my Funko Pop Figures for Captain America Civil War

Last night I saw Captain America: Civil War with Allison. We caught the 7pm showing in IMAX at Providence Place. It was an excellent movie. So many great parts in the movie. When I saw Wild Cards I am referring to characters that we have not see in action with the Avengers in the past (Although Ant-Man did tangle with Falcon before). The three Wild Cards would be Black Panther, Ant-Man and Spider-Man. Since Funko has not yet released their Spider-Man Pop for Captain America: Civil War I will talk about Black Panther and Giant-Man figures because those are the last two in the set that I have to unbox and I do so in today’s vlog.

Captain America: Civil War Pops

Tonight we are going to see Captain America: Civil War. But before that I had a super busy day that included things like The Gym, a Twitter Party for Sears and also a run to Sears for their In-Vehicle Pickup Service, making videos, succeeding at Operation Naptime and finding some Avengers Age of Ultron Titan figures on clearance at Target. We also went to the McDonald’s Play place after getting haircuts and that kid who drank everyone’s sodas was there again. I couldn’t believe it. He didn’t come touch my phone which is good because I was doing the Twitter party while Andrew played because I wanted him tired out and also I wasn’t going to make it home in time for the party after our haircuts.

So I was running here and there all day long. But tonight I’m going to experience Captain America: Civil War in IMAX glory. I can not wait!

In today’s video I unbox some more Funko Pops including War Machine and The Winter Soldier.

Captain America Civil War Women of Funko Unboxing

The Women of Captain America Civil War
Photo-A-Day #4038

Today I continue on with my pre Captain America: Civil War celebrations and I unbox some more of my Funko figures. This time around the figures that I unbox are the women of Captain America: Civil War. I have the new Scarlet Witch, and Black Widow along with a character that has her first figure, Agent 13, Sharon Carter. I already have two previous versions of Black Widow including one with her carrying Captain America’s shield. I also have the version of Scarlet Witch from Avengers: Age of Ultron. These are some great figures.

These new female figures have one very special enhancement that should have been a part of all the previous female characters across all the different series of figures? These each have a small clear stand so that they can stand up without any problem. Now these new ones can be easily displayed without any fear of them falling. I’m happy about that.

Unboxing Marvel Funko Pops Crossbones, Wolverine and Star Lord

Photo-A-Day #4037

A fairly quiet day today. Got a good afternoon of sleep and then woke up to record today’s vlog. I’m working on unboxing each of my Marvel Funko Pop figures for Captain America: Civil War. Today I decided upon opening the villain of the movie, yeah there are a couple of actual villains and not just the good guys fighting each other. One villain is Crossbones who is a character from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He’s back and has been enhanced after being blown up in one of the Helicarrier explosions. The Target exclusive shows him battle damaged and that shows how he was badly burned. I’m figuring that he got his enhancements from the other baddie, Baron Zemo. We’ll see. I’m going to be seeing on Thursday night in IMAX! I cannot wait.

Also in the video I unbox my Classic Wolverine Pop and my Guardians of the Galaxy Star Lord Pop, one I thought I had but did not. I’ll have to get out all my individual collections to shoot them.

I also found a few Hot Wheels from 2015 at Big Lots. Lot’s of purple and trucks.

Happy National Super Hero Day

National Super Hero Day
Photo-A-Day #4035

Today is National Super Hero Day. I hadn’t realized it until I saw it on Facebook. But I made up for that when I went to Target and found some of the new Hot Wheels Metal/Metal Real Rides cars that were of Marvel characters. These are fully metal vehicles and man, they weigh a lot. I was surprised to find all six on the shelf and so I picked them all up. Or so I thought. I was in the Target cafe taking photos of them to post to Instagram for the purpose of showing them for National Super Hero Day, It was there that I realized that I had two of The Punisher vehicles. In my excitement and haste I guess I grabbed two of the same one and missed the Hawkeye one. Glad I realized it while in the store and was able to make the exchange.

Today I also packed up the Captain America Hot Wheels Cars for my friend Greg and mailed out the box for him and the box for my friend Andrew of Mommy’s Busy. I went to the Plainville Post Office. It is my favorite Post Office. They are so nice there. Each time I go it is a pleasant experience and so I save my mail related issues till I can get over there.

In this video I also go and open up my Captain America and Iron Man Funko figures for Captain America: Civil War. I compare them against the ones from the Marvel Collector Corps box that I received recently.

MARVEL’S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – GIRLS REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE – Winner Revealed

The Captain America Challenge Finalists

I just watched this great video about the outcome of the MARVEL’S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – GIRLS REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE. The video shows the 5 young women who were the finalists for the challenge. It also reveals the Grand Prize Winner who will participate in a week-long internship at Marvel Studios. That is some pretty amazing stuff and each of the young women had a great S.T.E.M. idea that they presented. The video shows the women on a Walt Disney Studios tour, walking the red carpet for Captain America: Civil War and more.

This video is going to be a must watch for Eva. I know that she loves Science, Technology, Engineering and Math but to see young women who are creating amazing things with it is an inspiration not to be missed. This challenge was an exciting one and when Eva gets older I hope that there will e something like this where she can participate as well.

Here is a new video with Elizabeth Olsen (“Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch”) and Emily VanCamp (“Sharon Carter / Agent 13”) sharing more information about this program and the finalists:

Read on to find out more about the winner of the challenge. Continue reading MARVEL’S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – GIRLS REFORMING THE FUTURE CHALLENGE – Winner Revealed
