Continued Work on Stop Motion Studio

Photo-A-Day #4398

Tonight I went to Brian’s to film Built from Bricks. I really thought that I’d have more time today to do something other than talk more about the Stop Motion Studio.

I did get a bunch more LEGO sets today. Two came in the mail and two I picked up from Toys ‘R Us. I like to scoop things up on the 10% off days. Next week I will have a coupon plus a $5 coupon. There is another Marvel set that I have my eyes on.

I think that I’ll build many of these in a stop motion type video.

Marvel’s Heroes Come in All Sizes Campaign with Video

Captain Americ... uh... Black Widow

Check out this cute Stop Motion video featuring the Marvel Action figures. It is part of a campaign around the toys that will be coming from the brand. I did see some action figures around the $7.99 mark that look really nice, sort of the size that old action figures were and with some decent articulation, too. It looks like the one above which I found in an oddly mis-marked package recently. And No, I did not buy it, I should have done so. The video below makes me want to go buy a bunch and try to make some stop motion videos myself.

Marvel Unveils “Heroes Come In All Sizes” Retail Campaign for Spring 2017

Spring Focus Brings Together New Story Content, Brand-Driven Marketing, and Exciting Product Releases Celebrating Heroes Everywhere

Glendale, Calif. (February 7, 2017) – Building off three years of success for Marvel’s Super Hero Spectacular retail event, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) is debuting an all-new retail campaign in Spring 2017 tailored to heroes everywhere. “Marvel Heroes Come in All Sizes” is a celebration of Marvel Super Heroes – and everyday heroes – across a broad spectrum of merchandise, new story content, digital storytelling, and collaborations all reinforcing the idea that the best way to measure a Super Hero is by the size of their heart. The campaign will package content with brand-driven marketing and new product releases to drive Marvel retail placement for fans of all ages.

“Whether you are big like Hulk, small like Ant-Man or smart and quick-to-action like Black Widow, Marvel truly has a hero for everyone,” said Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “From young kids to teenagers, to a casual fan or a diehard adult collector, Marvel Heroes Come in All Sizes showcases that there is no singular definition for a hero and that our diversity is what makes us so powerful.”

Spring 2017 will bring a wealth of new Marvel storytelling spanning home entertainment, television, publishing and digital content, all highlighting the theme “Heroes Come in All Sizes.” Fans will be able to enjoy Marvel’s latest cinematic hit Marvel’s Doctor Strange at home with the Blu-Ray and DVD release on February 28th, while Marvel Publishing launches the new Monsters Unleashed! comic series and Disney Publishing releases the first novel for young readers featuring Squirrel Girl in The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Squirrel Meets World and a picture book featuring Baby Groot. On the small screen, fans will be able to catch the season 3 finale of Marvel’s Ultron Revolution and the season 4 finale of Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man Vs. The Sinister Six. More Marvel favorites will be returning to television with the season 2 premiere of the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy animated series and the premiere of new “Rocket and Groot” video shorts. The Blind Bag Trap

Iron Man and Captain America
Photo-A-Day #4226

I have a love/hate relationship with blind bags. They are exciting to open to see if you have found a chase character or a duplicate. The more blind bags you have the more chances you have of getting all the figures that you want, but there is also a higher chance of getting duplicates. I picked up a bunch of Funko Mystery Minis (Blind Bags) of Captain America Civil war characters on clearance at a couple of GameStop stores. Last night I found the rest of them at the last of the GameStops that are near me. I have all the figures except for three of them. I figured that I’d find at least one of them with this latest batch, but no. Not one new one and I even found two of the same ones. Ant-Man. I love the character but not 4 of them. So, that is the trap of Blind Bags. It is like toy gambling. It can be exciting but also disappointing.

So, now I have to figure out how to find those last three figures without taking more chances on blind bags.

Captain America Civil War Women of Funko Unboxing

The Women of Captain America Civil War
Photo-A-Day #4038

Today I continue on with my pre Captain America: Civil War celebrations and I unbox some more of my Funko figures. This time around the figures that I unbox are the women of Captain America: Civil War. I have the new Scarlet Witch, and Black Widow along with a character that has her first figure, Agent 13, Sharon Carter. I already have two previous versions of Black Widow including one with her carrying Captain America’s shield. I also have the version of Scarlet Witch from Avengers: Age of Ultron. These are some great figures.

These new female figures have one very special enhancement that should have been a part of all the previous female characters across all the different series of figures? These each have a small clear stand so that they can stand up without any problem. Now these new ones can be easily displayed without any fear of them falling. I’m happy about that.

Captain America Civil War 5-Pack of Hot Wheels Vehicles

Iron Man Hot Wheels Car
Photo-A-Day #4007

I stopped over at Target today and I was very excited about a couple things that I found. First I found the new Captain America Civil War 5-Pack of Hot Wheels cars. The new individual cars were not out but this 5-pack is great with an exclusive Battle Damaged War Machine car inside. The rest of the cars except for Iron Man have been recolored. Iron Man has been redesigned. It makes sense because Tony Stark is always creating and recreating himself and his armor. The character vehicles in the set are Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Iron Man and Battle Damaged War Machine.

I also found an amazing find. Hot Wheels has re-released some classic cars and playsets. The re-released the classic STo & Go playset. I actually got giddy when I saw it because this was something that I had as a kid and I loved it. The classic was from 1979 and it was awesome. I cannot wait to open this one. I just ran out of time today so I wasn’t able to open it for the vlog. I do mention it in today’s vlog, though.

Deadpool and Black Widow Funko Pops

Deadpool Funko Pop and Black Widow GameStop Exclusive Funko Pop
Photo-A-Day #3946

This week I found a few more Funko Pops to add to my collection. Despite me being firmly in the #TeamStark camp I did love what Black Widow did in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It is a shame that the action figures for the movie replaced Black Widow in a key toy depicting that particular scene. This has never been rectified as far as I know. This is why I like Funko. They have all the special Pop figures including many great female characters. I saw this Black Widow figure with Captain America’s shield and had to have it as part of my collection. Interesting that she will be on Team Stark when Captain America: Civil War hits the screen on May 6th.

The other figure that I got was a Deadpool figure. There are a bunch of Deadpool Funko Pops coming out soon because of the movie on February 12. The more I read the comic and see the commercials the more I want to see this movie. Continue reading Deadpool and Black Widow Funko Pops

Daily Vlog – Power Disc & Funko Pop Frenzy

All the colors of the car wash
Photo-A-Day #3945

Andrew and I did some major running around today with errands ranging from buying Funko Pops, to getting the car washed, to picking up a new cable box. We did manage to have some fun, too and he got in a nap, lucky.

I dropped Andrew at school and hit the gym. I popped over to Target afterwards. I found some more Disney Infinity Power Discs for $1.50 and picked them up. I then headed to pick up Andrew. I got him from school and we turned right back around to go towards the Xfinity store. But first we stopped for lunch and a car wash.

Andrew enjoys going through the car wash with me. He loves the colors as you can see from the photo above. The car wash that we go to for a quick clean actually moves around the car and it is really freaky. You think that you are moving but it is just the washer around you. The first time I was in there I put it in reverse and backed up. It freaked me out. Andrew and I had a little discussion about it on the vlog.

After the car wash we had some Chinese food at House of Fortune, our favorite place. We had a nice meal together, he was very good.

We then headed over to the Xfinity store to get that new cable box. It was a small box for the bedroom TV. We almost don’t need one with all the apps and streaming channels that are on the Roku TV but occasionally you want to watch something live. It just stopped working the other day and needed to be replaced. So we walked in and within 3 minutes had a new one and were walking out. Next door was a GameStop and I popped in to see what they may have in the way of Skylanders or Disney Infinity figures. As Luck would have it they had a organizer for the Disney Infinity 2.0 Power Discs that came with a special disc. Since I’ve been picking up all the $1.50 packs I’ve gotten many of the 2.0 Power Discs and needed a place to put them. so I got it, it was on clearance. I also got myself a GameStop Exclusive Funko Pop Black Widow and Andrew bought a Woody from Toy Story Pop. They also had the Force Awakens Play Set Power Discs for 1.2 off and I got those. The woman at the counter then offered me an opened Funko Mystery box for less than 1.2 off. It had an Exclusive Batgirl in it so I got that too. More in the vlog below.

Two New Clips for Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I am getting so excited to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I’ll be seeing it on my birthday if all goes according to plan. In the meantime there are some new clips that I can share with you. One of them is a featurette about the identity of the Winter Soldier. It should not be a surprise at all if you are a fan of the comic book.

The first clip has the beautiful and deadly Black Widow.
