Maybe it was because we were away over Christmas or maybe it was just being lazy but it wasn’t until today that I took down the Christmas tree on the front porch. Last year when we bought the artificial tree we also bought some giant tree bags to store them for the year. They work out really nicely so that I can keep everything together so that we have it next season. It was definitely overdue to be taken down but it looked really nice out on the porch. But I think having it up past groundhog day is a bit much. I’ll have to take it in earlier next year.
Of course, the inside one is still up and decorated. That will have to come down soon as well.
Each year we have several Christmas traditions that we do. This year was a little different with our upcoming trip to Florida. A couple of things did not end up happening. the kids trees never got fully decorated. We didn’t end up going to La Salette or our post Christmas Lights meal at Bliss.
We did, however, get the kids ornaments for their tree. this year they were hand made. Andy’s was made from stickers from Rock Spot where he does his rock climbing. I found a funky carabiner to use and Eva helped me put everything together. Allison made Eva a pig with a crown to symbolize Technoblade, the Minecraft streamer that Eva enjoys and who passed away this year. She was overjoyed to receive this ornament.
It would have been nice to have had those trees decorated but hopefully we’ll get that done next year.
