Allison and Eva went to see the Winnie the Pooh movie one afternoon without me. So, I can’t tell you much about what it was about but I can tell you that they came home very happy with what they saw. Allison is such a Winnie the Pooh fan that she has the complete set of Winnie the Pooh stories several times over. Basically both children (Eva and “Baby Surprise”, to be released in November, LOL) have a full set of the books for their rooms. So we are a Winnie the Pooh friendly family. And so, when Allison and Eva gave the movie a thumbs up I knew it had to be good. Well, the movie is being released on Blu-ray, DVD & Movie Download October 25th. Jake and the Never Land Pirates is one of the cuter shows to come out of Disney Junior in a while. Eva, who had a hangup about Captain Hook being scary (Thanks Mom for showing her the terrifying 1930 play on a shakey old vcr tape) is totally in love with this series. The show centers around Jake, a young pirate kid, his friends Izzy and Cubby. They have a magical pirate ship named Bucky and a talking parrot named Skully and how they solve pirate problems. In each episode Captain Hook and Smee attempt to steal things from the “puny pirates”. Captain Hook also have a couple of crew members Sharky and Bones. They are not only pirates but provide fun music in the episode. We have a fun time watching this show together. It has made her stop being afraid of pirates.
