Unboxing Skylanders Mystical Bad Juju

Mystical Bad Juju
Photo-A-Day #4268

Yesterday I picked up Mystical Bad Juju from GamStop. When I got home this morning I made the video of the unboxing of this character. The reason that I was in GameStop was that I was looking for the Jurassic World LEGO Dimensions Team Pack for a friend. While I was there I noticed that they had Mystical Bad JuJu. They had nothing else because one guy came in and bought everything else Skylanders. I grabbed Mystical Bad JuJu because I think my review options are starting to get a little sparse. This latest wave is not coming to me for review. So tonight when I went to Target I found Regular Bad Juju, Pit Boss, Flare Wolf and Buckshot. These are part of a wave that I am not going to receive. I saw them earlier this week at Toys R Us but at the time I thought I was going to be getting them to review, so I didn’t buy them there. Toys R Us also had Master Chain Reaction. I’ll be on the lookout for him, too. More Skylanders videos are coming. I’ll get some Gameplay together, too.

I also mention a few tips and tricks I’ve learned with this new game. Watch to find out what they are.

Christmas Fun With Andrew and Toy Unboxing

Bass Pro Christmas Tree
Photo-A-Day #4256

Christmas season continues with Andrew and I making a visit to Bass Pro Shops. Santa is there every year and he is a really good Santa. I’ve taken Andrew each year to get a photo with Santa. So, today we had time and we popped over there for lunch and a visit with Santa. But, before we went to Bass Pro Shops we stopped in at Trader Joe’s because I wanted to pick up a special chocolate bar. It contains pop rocks and chili powder. So it is dark chocolate, that fizzes and pops with a special heat.

At Bass Pro Shops We had lunch at Uncle Buck’s and then wandered the store. At first he didn’t want to visit Santa. So, instead we played with the Lincoln logs that were on display. We also colored together while I attempted to convince him to visit Santa. It wasn’t that he was afraid or anything. He just didn’t care either way. He also didn’t lend me any insight as to what he wanted for Christmas either.

But we were there so once the line was pretty well thinned we took our turn. Bass Pro has always done the free photos but this year they stepped things up and in addition to the photo there was also a great wooden frame. I was quite impressed.

Hanging out with Andrew lately has been really cool. He is such a funny kid. He is also picking up on everything and a lot of the good stuff, too. For example, we ware discussing a friend who had to cut off her hair. We talked about how people cannot control things about their appearance and they shouldn’t be judged on it. We talked about how the look of someone’s hair doesn’t matter. They are still the same person we know and love. So, I’m giving him a bath and he has a Playmobil boat with a woman and man. The woman’s hair was off. I thought ti had fallen off and I was fixing it and he stopped me and told me that he wanted top play with it like that because hair doesn’t matter. This kid is really taking it all in. Don’t ever use the word “ugly” in front of him, he’ll give you a lecture on tearing someone’s heart. He listened when I said that, too.

Unboxing Marvel Tsum Tsum Multi-Packs

Marvel Tsum Tsum
Photo-A-Day #4254

Jakks Pacific sent me a bunch of Marvel Tsum Tsum Multi-packs to play with and review. I make an unboxing video of all of the Marvel Tsum Tsum packs. These are the cutest little collectibles. I only got a couple of doubles which I gave to the kids. They added them to their Disney Tsum Tsum Advent Calendar, which we unboxed on the 1st. I’m very grateful to my contacts at Jakks for having that arrive right on the first day of Advent.

I have yet to play the Marvel Tsum Tsum game. I’m going to download it soon and these figures are the reason. They are adorable. I was at Target tonight to find some mystery packs for the kids for Christmas. I saw that the Disney ones and the Marvel ones were on sale. The nine pack was on Cartwheel for 50% off, too. I got plenty of stocking stuffers and some mystery packs for myself. The Mystery packs have the Tsum Tsum and a special accessory for the characters. I hope that I get Rocket with Baby Groot. Here is my unboxing video.

Unboxing the Skylanders Imaginators Gryphon Observatory Adventure Pack and more!

Gryphon Park Observatory Skylanders
Photo-A-Day #4253

The family was on the Cape today and I wasn’t too tired so it was time to catch up on all my Skylanders unboxings. I unboxed all of the figures that I have. Some were sent to me for free from Activision and the rest I bought at Target, Best Buy and Toys R Us. I only made one Creation crystal, the Earth one that came with the Gryphon Park Observatory adventure Pack. I am saving the rest for a big video where I make one Imaginator of every element and Battle Class.

I unboxed the characters Aurora, Solar Flare Aurora, Wolfgang, Steel Plated Hood Sickle, Jingle Bell Chompy Mage, Legendary Tri-Tip and Legendary Pit Boss. I also unboxed the Gryphon Park Observatory and played through that adventure pack level. I wasn’t going to add gameplay to the video but I woke up early enough that I could make a longer video with gameplay. So, when I recorded the parts of me talking I didn’t realize that I’d be up early enough to work on it. I’m glad I did. I like how it turned out, you can see it below.

Don’t forget that I am giving away a 3D Printed Skylanders Imaginator. Check out my Skylanders Contest post to learn more.

Creating Legendary Skylanders
Photo-A-Day #4248

Today I opened my three Skylanders Imaginators Legendary Creation Crystals. These are creation crystals and comic books plus mini posters. The only thing that is not included is a set of stickers that have the battle class icons. The only set of stickers that works best are those of the light element creation crystal. I had extra and so I used those to label my creation crystals. The legendary creation crystals were for the elements of Light, Life and Magic. I would create the first one and I decided to create a Light Skylander of the Battle Class Smasher. At first I wanted a character with a sort of food themed design. I changed later to more of a rainbow raver with Doomlander gear. The video below has all three Skylanders Imaginators and you can even download them into your own Skylanders Creator app.

As an added bonus the video also details a contest. I’m giving away a 3D printed Skylander. You can enter the contest by posting your Skylander creation to Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag of #BenSparkCreator. The contest will run until December 15th.

Multiple Skylanders Imaginators Unboxings

Skylanders Imaginators Starcast
Photo-A-Day #4229

Activision sent me a mess of Skylanders back before the launch of Imaginators. I have been posting them as often as I can but I’m behind and I really want to play with the ones I have and so I’m opening them to play with them. As far as making walkthrough and gameplay videos I am even further behind. Making gameplay videos takes a long time and as I wait till I have time I’m missing out on playing with the characters. So, I will make them later one. For the time being I’ll do some unboxing videos and reviews of the figures in my posts.

The character above is Master Starcast. He is a Ninja from the Dark Element. There is a special chase variant figure that is out there that is clear. I want it but I haven’t found it anywhere. The last clear character I ever found was the Trap Master Tuff Luck. That was at Target and I just got lucky. I am hoping to get lucky again. After the video I have more information of the additional characters that I opened today. I then played with all of them to get a fee for their fighting styles. Starcast can move around on top of a giant throwing star and then he is also able to toss four stars at once.

Happy Halloween 2016

Eva and Andrew in their Halloween Costumes
Photo-A-Day #4220

We did something different for our Halloween this year. We went over to our friend’s house and went trick or treating around their neighborhood. It was so busy. That was a far cry from our neighborhood where we get maybe 40 people in the night. The kids had a great time with their friends and came home with huge buckets of candy. It reminded me of Halloween when I was a kid. I’d collect a ton of candy from all over the place. Their neighborhood was such a nice neighborhood. We left a bowl on the porch with a note to just take one. It was empty when we returned. Pretty sure it was hit the moment we got into the house. Glad we only put out half of what we had.

Andrew was excited about Halloween all day. He decided to ditch the Iron Man costume for the Skylanders Wallop Costume that we received to review. He really liked that costume. Eva, of course, is all about Harry Potter and loves her Hermione costume so much. She has been talking non stop about it and was delighted with each person who recognized her as Hermione. They both thought that my costume was a riot. I combined my Sriracha Bottle Costume with my Optimus Prime Helmet and went as “Srirachamus Prime”. Observe.

I am Srirachamis Prime. #Halloween #Transformers

Andrew and I played Skylanders after school today. We played with the Sensei Candy Coated Chopscotch as well as standard Chopscotch and we made an Undead Imaginator with a Creation Crystal. The standard Chopscotch and the Undead Creation Crystal were given to me by Activision. I bought Candy Coated Chopscotch myself on release day. Here is my video about those toys.

Skylanders Imaginators Launch Day Hunt

Skylanders Imaginators Hunting
Photo-A-Day #4205

This morning when I came home from work I went in search of Skylanders Imaginators figures at Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Gamestop and Best Buy. I only made it to three places because two open at 11am and I needed to get to sleep. Pretty much the only thing I didn’t do with Skylanders Imaginators today was play the actual game. I had to sleep for work but ended up having to take a sick day because I was not feeling well.

While on the hunt I had some decent luck, but not great luck. If I had had great luck then I would have found one of those crystal Master Starcast Sensei figures. Target had a good deal with their Cartwheel app with %20 off Skylanders Imaginators Sensei figures and also off the Creation Crystals. Toys R Us had some of the imaginite chests for 2 for $10 instead of $5.99. They also had Legendary Tri-Tip and Candy Coated Chopscotch. I picked up both and 4 blind bag imaginite chests.

It is Skylanders Season #SkylandersImaginators

Skylanders Season

I can’t get over how awesome it has been to receive the Skylanders Imaginators toys ahead of the release tomorrow. I’ve already opened a few of them but have many more to go. Open them make a video of them and post them. I’ve done an unboxing of the Dark Edition, a video about all I received from Activision and also some of the characters like Dr. Krankcase. I’ve also gone and made a bunch of videos about the Skylanders Creator App because the kids love it.

I spent part of today working on videos and now that I see one of them something got messed up. Bit of a waste of time but at least it is something I am doing that I really enjoy.

Enjoying Skylanders Imaginators and the Creator App

I’ve been working very hard on videos for the new Skylanders Imaginators game. Yesterday I received a giant box of Skylanders Imaginators from Activision to review. I’ve been playing the game today and learning all sorts of interesting information. I recorded a bunch of great gameplay video today which I will work up tomorrow. I chose a couple of Skylanders Senseis to unbox as well as a couple of Creation Crystals. I learned something very interesting about the Creation Crystals. Once you set the battle class of the Skylander Imaginator it is permanent. So, I’ll be using the little stickers to set the proper battle class. I wasn’t going to but now I’ve learned about that permanent feature. What I am doing is making sure that each element has all different battle classes. I’m using the poster to make sure I do that.

While I’ve been playing the Skylanders Imaginators game, Andrew and Eva have been playing the Creator App. We thought that we’d be able to transfer the characters from the app to the game but it is actually the other way around. The transfer is interesting, it is done by sound. I wonder if it is possible to record the sound of one of my creations to make it available for anyone to transfer to their own app. I will have to record a video series of my Skylanders creations so that people can download them to their apps. That would be fun. So here is today’s video and after that is a video on how to use the Skylanders Creator app.
