We went down to the Cape to celebrate Father’s Day and mt nephew Dylan’s fifth birthday. I took the day off so that I could head down with the family. It was a small party and it was just our kids and my niece and nephew. I think that worked out nicely because the kids had water balloons and a little pool to play in together. I had also brought along some Water Shields. Those were something that I picked up at Toys R Us and those let the kids defend themselves from Water balloons and also carry around extra water balloons.
The kids had a great time with their cousins. It was a nice party and they even had a pinata which the kids tore up.
I am a very lucky Dad. I have two amazing children and a great wife. We spent the morning at Church together. Then I headed home to sleep. I slept for the day and woke up at 5 to a delicious dinner and some sweet cards from the kids and gifts from everyone. Andrew picked up a giant package of Bunch ‘O Balloons for a future water balloon fight. Each year we have a fun giant water balloon fight and I can’t wait for this year’s battle. Allison found me a great Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Funko Pop tshirt. It was one I had seen before and considered picking up for myself. Eva picked out the Black Lion from Voltron. She knows that this is my favorite lion because of Shiro played by Josh Keaton. We also watch the show together and we are looking forward to season three of the show.
Dinner was steak and corn on the cob. Allison even used the new steak rub that I received from Netflix. Dinner was just what I wanted and we took some time to really enjoy being together. I wish that I didn’t have to go in to work tonight but at least it is Summer vacation and we can spend more time together during the week.
