Some Zelda Gameplay & Smashburger

Smashburger
Photo-A-Day #4464

I keep working on the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Sword Trials. I have completed the lower trials. These are the easiest ones, the first 15. Once I do that the Master Sword gets 10 points stronger. You are transported back to the Korok forest to start the middle trials. I discovered that it makes no sense to try and do the first 15 again in hopes that you continue to the next fifteen with the items that you found in the first set of trials. So, you do each set of trials to upgrade the Master sword 10 points at a time. Right after the part of video that I finished I got killed by a tougher enemy. I was one level away from finishing the Middle trials. Ouch.

Allison and the kids are visiting with our in-laws tonight and when they are away I tend to head over to Smashburger for dinner. I just love that place. Such good burgers and their fried pickles are great! I am always social when I am there, posting pictures of the meals and such. I posted today’s photo to Instagram and twitter and the usual places where you can find me.

Legend of Zelda, GLOW on Netflix #StreamTeam and Water Drop Lilies

The lilies in our yard have finally started blooming. We have a bunch of them in the yard. There is a large concentration of them in a spot where we buried the cats. Eva and Andrew want me to dig them (the lilies) up when if and when we move. Probably because we have told the kids that the cats are now part of the lilies and so we take the lilies, we take the cats.

On the Legend of Zelda front I am .09% away from being 100% complete. The thing is, I have no idea exactly where I have to go to find the last location. I have gone through the interactive map and still can’t find the missing location. So now I’ve printed out all of the locations and will have to do a checklist to find what I am missing. I’m trying to get this all done before next Friday when the DLC pack comes out with even more things to do in Hyrule.

I just finished watching a new Netflix series called GLOW. It is a half hour comedy about the creation of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling or GLOW. The show is so full of 80’s Easter Eggs. References to everything from leotards and leg warmers to Back to the Future. There is even a training montage complete with Stan Bush’s “Dare”. The show stars Allison Brie and Marc Maron and is very cheesy but funny at the same time. I do hope that there will be a second season because I’d like to know where things go next.

Make the (Nintendo) Switch this Father’s Day

Playing Snipperclips with andrew

For the past couple of years for Father’s Day we have had epic water balloon fights. That is the activity that I enjoy most for Father’s Day, having great fun with the family. Getting everyone to laugh and let loose. Especially me. I’m too rigid in day to day life and need these moments of chaos and fun to be able to act like the little kid inside me. I think that many dads want a chance to play with their kids and have a great time on Father’s Day. This year I’d still like to have that epic water balloon fight, but once we dry off I would like to try some play fighting of another sort.

I bought the Nintendo Switch the day it came out, I had it pre-ordered and could not wait to experience this new gaming system. I’ve been a Nintendo fan ever since the NES back in the 80’s. So far I have only been playing the switch on my own except for two things. Andrew and I did the Global Test Fire of Splatoon 2 and we recently got a copy of Snipperclips to review (see below). There are some great family games for the Nintendo Switch like Mario Kart 8 and the upcoming wacky boxing game: ARMS. ARMS just happens to be coming out on Father’s Day and that is something I’d love to play with the kids on that day. Here is some official info on the game.

ARMS

ARMS (Nintendo Switch, $59.99) is the newest creation from the team behind the hit game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Choose a unique fighting champion, equip your own combination of extendable arms and then battle it out with friends and family!* Using a mix of button presses and quick hand motions, ARMS allows you to throw tactical punches or avoid incoming attacks. Unleash your inner fighter in this unbelievable sporting event!

Dads will love the game Engadget calls “a lighthearted, competition-focused brawler with endearing characters, unique stages and excellently balanced gameplay” and that IGN says is “a fighting game with a balletic rhythm and flow that feels unique.”

ARMS launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on June 16. For more information, check out http://arms.nintendo.com/.

*Additional accessories required for multiplayer and are sold separately.

Arms Looks like a pretty incredible game. It is funny and colorful and just the sort of game that Nintendo would create to bring the family together to play. Nintendo also created a cute little game called Snipperclips that is just as colorful but a bit less exciting. However, it is still fun and funny to play. Legend of Zelda #BreathOfTheWild – Get 24 amiibo for the price of ONE!!!!

Animal Crossing amiibo
Photo-A-Day #4356

The other day I went in search of some more Legend of Zelda #BreathOfTheWild amiibo characters. When you use Legend of Zelda characters you can get better items when they drop each day. A treasure chest drops and it is very useful.

But you can use any of your other amiibo characters to get item drops with between 3 and 6 items. That means that you can even use the Animal Crossing amiibo cards. I found them at Toys R Us at 2 for $10 on a Thursday which is 10% off day for TRU credit card holders and I had a $5 coupon so I got 24 amiibo for $15.94 that is $0.05 less (before tax) than any of the Breath of the Wild amiibo (except the Guardian) that are out there right now!

National Cereal Day 2017 – I’m No Longer Switchless

National Cereal Day

Today was National Cereal Day 2017. General Mills Cereals sent me a care package for celebrating National Cereal Day. In it was a box of Golden Grahams, some items for taking selfies and more photos as well as decorations. I made a couple of things for the family. I made some Golden Grahams S’mores and some Lucky Charms Pancakes. I mixed up the mixture last night to actually make waffles but today was also national pancake day so I changed my mind this morning. Last night I also made up the Golden Grahams S’mores and they were very easy to make.

Today was also the day that I received my Nintendo Switch. I tried making an unboxing video and it was okay. It was hard to video something that has such a shiny screen. I was able to play a little of The Legend of Zelda as well as some of Skylanders Imaginators. I’ve got many ideas for future videos to make, now I have to figure out the best way to do it. Here is my unboxing video.
