Falmouth Heights Fourth of July 2015

Photo-A-Day #3739

This year’s Fourth of July festivities included the annual neighborhood parade, a family cookout and a perfect night of fireworks. We got up and got ready for the Annual Dartmouth Neighborhood Parade. Dad decorated the wagon and I tried to get Eva to ride the Mobo Cruiser in the parade but she wants to wait until next year for that one. When she isn’t confident in her ability about something she won’t be doing it. I did attach an American flag to the post but at least so we could take a photo. Rained Out Fourth of July

Photo-A-Day #3374

Today, the fourth of July was rained out. The Falmouth Fireworks were postponed to July 6th (good decision) the neighborhood parade went on despite the rain (wish we knew it was happening sooner, but I’ll get to that). The day started with decent weather. It was going to be a bad day for weather so we made the most out of the good weather while we had it.

I brought the squirt guns back to the Cape and while Allison went shopping the kids and I had a squirt gun fight with my parents. It was nice because it was fun and everyone had a great time. Then Allison came back and told me that the parade was happening, right then and there. Eva was devastated. she planned to perform her song at the talent portion of the event. So, we got the kids into the wagon and ran over to the parade. We missed the whole pageant portion of the parade and caught up with the parade a couple streets over. I took a bunch of photos along the route. Eva was very sad about not being able to play her song. One of our neighbors offered for her to come over and play for them. That made her happier.

For the past ten years I’ve taken photos of this parade. This year I gathered up all of the photos and put them onto some USB drives to give to neighbors. Once the parade was over I culled out the good ones for this year and added them to the mix. Then I went to the different neighbors and gave them the photos that I had.
