Eva had her Invention Convention today at school. This is a special event for her grade. They all create an invention and then show that invention to family and friends one night and then to the school the next day.

Eva’s invention is called the Car Budde-z. That is because it is E-Z to set up and E-Z to hold everything that you need when you are on a car ride. What she wanted to make was a folding car desk that she could use while on long trips. she put together the material list and I went shopping and picked up the cookie sheets and hinges. My dad affixed the hinges to the cookie sheets and then Allison and Eva added ribbons to make it possible for the hinged cookie sheets to hang off the back of the seat in front of Eva and have a solid flat spot to write or draw. Then she also added magnetic locker organizer pieces to her Car Budde-z so she could keep her pens and pencils in place when the car goes around the corner.

There were so many fun inventions at the convention. I especially liked one invention that used LEGO parts to make it work. Very ingenious.
