A week from today I’ll be seeing Disney’s Moana with the family at a sneak peek screening. Leading up to that night we’re going to see more about the movie and the kids are all excited. If your kids are excited like mine are then these new activity pages will give them something to do until they are able to see the movie on November 23rd. As if I needed more reasons to see Disney’s Moana this Thanksgiving, I’ve been sent two new clips on the movie. One an actual clip with part of the song, Whe Know The Way and the other a featurette about researching the Pacific Islands to create the movie. As I watch these clips I see the ships that they are using and am hoping to see something where they specifically reference the Hokulea. This ship is actually travelling the globe these days and we saw it when it came to port in Woods Hole this Summer. I haven’t seen anything but the ships do look an awful lot like the Hokulea. On to the clips!

Also available is a look at the stunning realization of the original song “We Know the Way.” Written and performed by Opetaia Foa‘i and Lin-Manuel Miranda, “We Know the Way” showcases the rich and vibrant voyaging life of Moana’s ancestors.

One incredibly beautiful movie is coming to theaters on November 23, 2016. The movie is already looking visually beautiful but now I have some clips of songs that are in my opinions going to be beautiful as well. Beautiful and incredibly funny. Here is a clip of Moana meeting Maui and you can see how full of himself Maui is but at the same time completely unaware of how grating that can be. Maui just is who he is. Then later I have a clip of that sort of thing in a musical form.

Also, set for release on November 18, the Moana original motion picture soundtrack features seven original songs and a full original score, plus two reprises as well as two end-credit versions of songs from the film. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.

Club Penguin is already a cool place but from August 21st – September 3, 2014 the place is going to be Frozen. Yes, a Frozen themed party is coming to Club Penguin. There are a ton of fun things that members can do when they sign in and play. We’ve been provided with a member account for Eva and she loves it. Opinions of the club are 100% our own. This silly little boy loves to take his sister’s keyboard and play music while shouting “Let it Go” into the microphone. Not the whole song, just plain old “Let it Go”. He also likes wearing the viking hat that Eva bought at Storyland. I think it fits him nicely and the bent horns are a nice touch.
We received a copy of Frozen on DVD/Blu-ray to watch and review. These are my impressions of the movie and specifically the Blu-ray/DVD.
Frozen came out on Blu-ray/DVD this past Tuesday and DVD players around the country blasted Let It Go along with kids and parents singing along. Well, that is what happened at our house. We’d already been watching the movie on Disney Movies Anywhere because I bought the movie the day it came out on Digital. Frozen is my daughter’s absolute favorite Disney movie and she knows all the songs because we bought the soundtrack as soon as that was available for download. Even my 2 1/2 year old son is a fan. He sings a tiny bit of Do You Want to Build a Snowman. He sings it and then points to us and demands that we clap, takes a bow and says thank you very much. Not sure where he got any of that but he is ready for the stage.
I was excited for the Blu-ray/DVD because of the extras. I love behind the scenes extras and while this was a little light for my taste there were some decent ones. The best special feature by far was D’frosted: Disney’s Journey From Hans Christian Andersen to Frozen. What I liked about it so much was that the tale of The Snow Queen was something that had been in development for a ride at Disney and there were so many pieces of art that the creators of Frozen were able to draw from. That was an amazing behind the scenes feature. I wish it had been longer and that there were more like that.
I really would have liked to have seen a Sing Along track added to the movie. There were sing along versions in the theater so why not the DVD. That would have been a great special feature.
If you haven’t seen Frozen I suggest that you buy some version of it because you will want to watch it over and over, it is highly entertaining. The songs are catchy and the message of true love is timeless.
