DVD Review: Miles From Tomorrowland – Let’s Rocket

Andrew with his Miles from Tomorrowland DVD and Blast Board Flshlight

Miles from Tomorrowland has become a fan favorite cartoon in our home. Before the show even launched I had the privilge of interviewing the creator Sascha Paladino. That was such a fun interview and it got me fired up for this show. My excitement spilled over to the kids and we began watching the show together. Andrew is often saying “Oh Craters!” when he’s upset with something. He even says that things are “Blastastic!” when he is happy. So, the show is a part of our lives.

When we had the opportunity to review first DVD for “Miles from Tomorrowland” I had to take it. Opinions of the show are 100% our own. We have had many good experiences watching this show and love the guest stars. I’ve even tweeted with Sascha and Cullen McCarthy. There is a great message about family in this show. The family unit works together to overcome some amazing obstacles. They function well as both a family and also as a crew. The show is also very funny. This DVD which came out on August 11th has a great selection of episodes. I look forward to re-watching them with the kids. More about the DVD below. Last week I had the opportunity to have a quick phone interview with the creator of the new Disney Junior series, “Miles from Tomorrowland.” I spoke with Sascha Paladino, Series Creator and Executive Producer, “Miles from Tomorrowland.” We had a one on one session where I got to ask him questions about the brand new series. You can catch an episode right now on the Watch Disney Junior App and the series will debut on Disney Channel this Friday at Friday, February 6 at 9:00 a.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel. On that day you can see these four episodes.

I’ve seen two full episodes so far. I saw the debut episode of “Runaway Shuttle/Surfin’ the Whirlpool” and “Journey to the Frozen Planet/Attack of the Flickorax”. Both were very entertaining. I enjoyed very much how the parents on the show were represented. They are not buffoons and the dad is not a bumbling idiot like most dads are portrayed. The family unit as a whole is not only a family but a competent crew. Mom, Phoebe, is the captain. Dad, Leo, is the pilot and chief mechanic. Daughter, Loretta, is a genius with technology. And Son, Miles is the adventurous spirit on the team. Miles is the wildcard, he doesn’t do things according to the instructions. He figures things out and does them his own way. He also has his best friend, Merc, the robot ostrich with him all the time. The show is bright and colorful and has a great excitement for Space and Space exploration. Chocolate Chip Bacon Waffles

Photo-A-Day #3582

Eva and Allison had a second snow day and so we decided to make waffles. A friend of mine gave me the idea of putting bacon in the middle of the waffle and the chocolate chips added to them were my idea. I was the only one who tried them that way and they were pretty good. I still prefer my bacon crispy on the side instead of inside but it was fun to try out.

I interviewed the creator of Miles from Tomorrowland today via phone. We talked all about the show and I will post up our interview very soon.

I recorded another Dad.fm podcast tonight with Adam and Jeff. We talked about my interview with Sascha Paladino and also my recent Ozobot review. The episode is up at Dad.fm

Tonight was tough because I am full on sick and the city came by around 6:45pm with snowplows and completely buried the driveways and negated the paths I made on the sidewalks. Surprise, surprise that school would be called for the next two days because sidewalks weren’t safe.
