Today was Mother’s Day and it started with Crepes for breakfast. Andy came into my office at 6:30am and told me that he had made the crepes batter and asked if I could make them. So, when I finished work at 7am I went downstairs and began to make some crepes and sausage for a Mother’s Day breakfast. He’s a thoughtful big-hearted kid. The kids gave Allison her gifts which included some handmade earrings from Eva and a clay creation from Andy. Both kids are quite talented when they get creative.
In the afternoon we had sushi from Four Seasons. The kids tried some of the different rolls that we got but settled on their old favorites. It was a nice meal and nice to have everyone home to share it.
The kids and I surprised Allison with some nice Mother’s Day gifts. I picked up a potted plant that looked really interesting and both the kids and Allison liked it. Then I thought of something that Allison really likes, Chocolate. So when I saw the S’Mores Kit I had to pick it up for her. She’s now all set for a night of making S’Mores.
Andrew and Eva were quite thoughtful in their gifts. They found an adorable bunny at a craft fair. Also, in first grade the kids make portraits of their mothers. Andrew is great with details and he even included one of Allison’s knitted shawls. Then he gave her a really nice card. When we were reading it we got to one page and busted out laughing so much. It is such a perfect kid thing.
My Mom is the best because because: She Makes graet crapes.”
Of course, that is not what Allison and I read because of how close all the letters are.
