Family Road Trip to New Hampshire

The Family with Groot and Rocket
Photo-A-Day #4388

Today we drove to New Hampshire. We have a Kia Sorento to drive for the week. DriveShop and Kia provided us with the car and opinions are our own. We’re staying at a timeshare for a few days and are going to explore the area. There are some really beautiful places to see.

On our way up we stopped at Double Midnight Comics. That is a comic book shop that is owned by a couple of friends from college. The kids loved the store and enjoyed getting a few things. Eva got a DC Superhero Girls book and Andrew a Trolls comic. I got a copy of Transformers #78 from the original Marvel run. I’m still missing some of them but am closer to completing the whole run.

We continued on to Lincoln, NH and there we had lunch at a Mexican place called El Charro. There were some excellent dishes there. We got stuffed silly.

It was still a bit early to go to our timeshare so we drove around a bit and saw more of the town and the surrounding scenery. We went up to the Flume and then further up to Franconia Notch, we turned back close to Cannon Mountain. We still had some time but went to Pollard Brook early and our room was ready. The kids were so thrilled to see it. They loved that there was a room for them and also a Jacuzzi tub in our room. What they wanted most of all was to go to the pool so we got changed and hit the pool for an hour. We got back tot eh room and from there I went to get some things at the supermarket. I also picked up a pizza and salad for dinner and we had a nice meal. After dinner the kids played with some LEGO sets that they had gotten for Easter while I tried to get Google Chromecast to work. This is certainly not an exact science at this point. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the network of the timeshare or what but one phone didn’t work for it and the other did. I’m going to have to play with it some more because I brought it so that we can do some movie watching at night. Allison and I watched Doctor Strange but the sound was all kaflooey that it made it not as enjoyable.

After Christmas Adventures

Fun at Chuck E Cheese

The kids and I went to Chuck E. Cheese’s today. We had to get out of the house and the whole cooped up feeling. There are only so many movies and shows we can watch and new Christmas toys that one can play with in one day.

Speaking of the toys the kids wanted to do videos all about their new toys. Eva made a full video about the I Am Elemental Wisdom Warriors Series and Andrew did a video on the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage. And I got something cool, too. I got the shipment of BRIK pieces that I got through Kickstarter.

Happy Birthday to Allison

Reflections while at Eli's Pizza

Today is Allison’s birthday. We started the day with Church and then Allison and the kids stayed at my parent’s house for some donuts and a visit. I went home to sleep for the afternoon so I could get up early to take Allison and the kids to dinner for her birthday. It was a super rainy day, however, and the kids spent part of the day jumping in puddles int he back yard. This made everyone tired and want to have a PJ day for the rest of the day. So, when I woke up I took care of the weekly trash and then ran out to get some pizza from Eli’s so that we could have an easy night in to celebrate Allison’s birthday. I wish that her present had gotten delivered in time but is hasn’t. So annoyed at that. Today’s vlog is a little different but lots of fun and filled with shenanigans and the kids singing.

Happy 4th Birthday, Andrew

Happy 4th Birthday Andrew

Today was Andrew’s fourth birthday. Our sweet and caring little boy is getting older and he was way more into the whole birthday thing. He changed his idea for a theme over and over. It was robots, LEGO, and then pirates. I was in charge of activities for the kids and I found some fun sticker books where the kids could make faces. There were princess, dinosaur and pirate ones. The kids enjoyed playing with those and then all the other toys in the living room. Rescue Bots and the Hess Toy Truck were big hits.

Making Faces

We had my parents, Uncle Mike and Jess, Uncle Nate and Colin, Holly, Rose and Noah and Andrew was so excited for everyone to meet his friend Calin and his mom and dad. Andrew wanted to have Cheez-Its, Sunflower seeds, and Pretzels for everyone to snack on. Then we got some pizza from Eli’s. Andrew was so excited to have everyone over. He was most excited when the cake came out and he got to blow out the candles. Allison made a delicious “marvel” cake and decorated it with a pirate sword and fish candles.

Andrew's Birthday Cake

Andrew was also very sweet about opening his gifts. He was very grateful for everything that he received. We should have had a Blaze and the Monster Machines themed birthday because that was the dominant toy that he received. Of course that was what I told everyone he wanted because we watch that show often. It will be fun to play with those toys together. It was a great party and we are so lucky to have such a sweet boy and kind generous family and friends.

Say What!

I just love Andrew’s little expression in this photo. Grandfather got him the Harley-Davidson onsie. I took a ton of photos of Andrew but this one had the best expression. His eyes almost look brown in the photo. For now he has blue eyes but I think they may turn.

We had a visit from our friends Derek and Michelle and their boys today. Eva played really well with their older son and their younger son did much of his own thing. The kids were good together and they made their own pizzas for lunch. We enjoyed a very nice visit.

SwagsGiving 2 Giveaway: Growums Pizza Garden

Today’s SwagsGiving Giveaway is not a toy but it is pretty wonderful none the less. I’m talking about a Growums Pizza Garden. Growums are complete kits for growing your own vegetables. Each kit comes with four different herbs and vegetables plus special pellets that magically grow when water is added to them. Eva’s been so excited to get started with Growums and I’ve been excited because we now have a house with a garden area and I look forward to being able to grow our own food.

Princess Peonies & Pizza

Photo-A-Day #2250

These are probably just garden variety peonies but them being pink I figured that they could be called “Princess”. Our neighbors have a whole slew of great peonies planted along their brick wall. They look so beautiful for a few days then they wilt or get too many ants on them. Ants seem to love peonies. So, tonight when I got home I walked over and took a few shots of them.
