Today was a pretty huge day for me. I hate to brag about myself. I really, really do have a tough time with it, and am working on acknowledging when I have a big win. So, today I have an announcement. I am officially a Geek Dad. Sure I am a Geek and I am a Dad, but now I am a GeekDad, a co-host of the podcast Geek Dads Weekly alongside Daniel M. Clark and Joe Magennis. Today I recorded my first show with Daniel. Joe was unable to make it due to car trouble but that is just the reason I was asked to join the show. Daniel and Joe thought it would be great to bring on a third co-host so that if one of the guys couldn’t make the show then there would be two co-hosts to do the recording. I’m so excited. Rock Sugar Band CD Winner!

Thank you to everyone who entered the Because Pop Rocks Rock Sugar Band CD contest. I have really been enjoying this band. I first learned about it through Mike Schmidt’s 40 Year Old Boy Podcast. Three episodes of thos podcast have mentioned the Rock Sugar Band because Mike is obsessed with them and why shouldn’t he, the band is awesome. Well, in the latest podcast Mike actually has Jess Harnell and Chuck Duran on the podcast for 2 hours. I’ve only been through one hour but it is really fun and I love this band even more.

Well, on to the winner. A lucky guy named Kevin Metzger of My Spelling Sucks has won the CD. His suggestion of 18 and Life by Skid Row and “Faith” by George Michael is brilliant. I loved it. Kevin, I’ll be contacting you for your address so I can send you the CD. Congrats.
