It is National Puppy Day! Need An Alternative to a Real Puppy, Try Peppy Pets

Peppy Pup Scruffy

We received a Peppy Pups from TPF Toys for free to try out and review a while back. Opinions of the toy are 100% our own.

This is an adorable little toy dog. It has spring legs and hard paws with special paw pads that let the dog bounce, waddle and prance along like a hyper happy little puppy would. The rest of the puppy is soft and cuddly. I got one of these for my son Andrew, he loves animals, especially dogs. He is so kind with them. Listening to him play with his new pet, Scruffy, was very special. He took Scruffy to a Dog Park upstairs. I could hear him talking with his friend and his friend’s dogs, too. Andrew loved talking Scruffy for “walks”, too. But as you can see in the video, his favorite thing was to share snacks.

Why are we talking about Peppy Pups from TPF Toys again? Well, today is National Puppy Day and I wanted to let parents know that there is an alternative out there that will delight their kids. More info below.

I love how big Andrew’s heart is. He is such a sweet boy who loves so much. He loves all his friends and family and animals. He’s been in his glory since one of our cats has been spending more time with him. He really likes dogs, though. He loves my sister’s dog, Lexi and wants to spend a lot of time with her. When I heard about Peppy Pups I knew this would be something for Andrew.

Andrew now wants to take Scruffy everywhere he goes. You should have seen how excited he was when his sister came home and he got to show her what Scruffy can do. Here’s some further information about Peppy Pups.

Time with Tara and Lexi

Photo-A-Day #3769

The kids certainly love any time that they get to spend with their Auntie Tara and her new puppy, Lexi. Tara came over tonight for a little while and she had Lexi with her. The kids were very good with the puppy. Andrew was even very sweet with her. He loves feeding Lexi some treats and playing with her.

We received some fun things in the mail today. They were for an upcoming post for Netflix StreamTeam. There is a couple of cool new shows on the way. One geared towards preschool boys and one geared towards tween girls. We watched both of the pilots and they were a lot of fun.

Meeting Lexi

Photo-A-Day #3710

Today I took Andrew over to my parent’s house so that he could spend time with his cousins and also to meet Tara’s new puppy, Lexi. He had a wonderful morning. Playing with Dylan and Lexi in the back yard had him so excited. He got to feed her treats and help with lunch.

Lexi is so cute. She’s a mutt and has a sweet disposition. She ran after balls and picked up sticks. She kept the boys running around, too.

It was nice to spend time with the cousins. Andrew does enjoy his time with Dylan. The two of them play very well together. We brought over Andrew’s baseball and bat and they played together. Andrew got a few more hits today. He’s loving it when he connects with the ball.

I enjoyed spending time with the kids, too. I even have a really cute photo with them. Usually I’m taking all the photos so I don’t get many with me in them. This one is sweet. Only thing missing is having Eva in it as well.

Meet Winston, The Little Puppy with a Big Appetite and Huge Heart in “Feast” #BigHero6

Feast - An Animated Short Film

“Feast,” a new short from first-time director Patrick Osborne (head of animation for “Paperman”) and Walt Disney Animation Studios, is the story of one man’s love life as seen through the eyes of his best friend and dog, Winston, and revealed bite by bite through the meals they share.

While we were an all expense paid Disney Press Tour a couple of months ago we, the group of bloggers on the trip, were lucky enough to see the new short film called “Feast”. This adorable short film will be shown before “Big Hero 6” which is out in theaters on November 7, 2014.

We were fortunate to get to interview the creator/director of “Feast”, Patrick Osborne. Feast came about through the Walt Disney animation Studio’s Spark program—which invites artists to explore their own unique ideas in a month-long project that is presented to the Studio team. Any employee can submit and idea for a short animated film. An idea is chosen and the film gets made. Patrick Osborne submitted an idea that was tied to a project that he did where he took made videos of his meals every day. He was then able to see trends in his meals and things happening in his life. Continue reading Meet Winston, The Little Puppy with a Big Appetite and Huge Heart in “Feast” #BigHero6

No Fumbling with Fubbles from Little Kids

Bubble Puppy Fubbles from Little Kids

Little Kids, Inc already has some pretty amazing bubbles related products. We are a fan of the no spill bubbles containers and while they are great for Eva, Andrew doesn’t have as easy a time with them. He can’t seem to blow bubbles using a regular bubble wand. The new product, Fubbles from Little Kids, Inc. solves the problem of helping smaller children blow bubbles. Continue reading No Fumbling with Fubbles from Little Kids

Bittersweet Goodbye to Taylor

Photo-A-Day #3154

For the past eleven years we have had the privilege of having the sweetest, gentle dog in our lives. Taylor was my sister and brother-in-law’s dog. They have had her since she was a puppy. She was such a unique dog. Our daughter Eva grew up along side Taylor and they shared a special bond.

We went to say our goodbyes to Taylor today. Tara made a photo album for Eva of the many special moments that they shared together. It was a generous thing for Tara to do especially when she herself was hurting so much. I think that this album will help Eva as she tries to understand losing Taylor. Toy Review: Zoomer the Puppy

Eva with Zoomer

We received a Zoomer Electronic Puppy to try out and review. Opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own based on my time playing with the toy.

At Toy Fair this year I visited the SpinMaster booth and discovered Zoomer. Zoomer is an electronic pet that can respond to your voice commands and perform many tricks. We received one to try out and Eva was overjoyed by this toy. The only trouble was, Eva has been losing teeth and it is a little difficult to understand the voice commands that she is giving. Zoomer understands me perfectly fine and performs all of the commands very well, unless he is feeling naughty, then he ignores them and does his own thing. Smaller than Small: Squinkies Zinkies Review

Squinkies Zinkies

I received three Squinkies Zinkies packages to play with and review. Zinkies are the newest in the very prolific Squinkies line of toys. I became a fan of Squinkies when they started producing a Marvel line of figures. I then bought some of the hot wheels figures and for Eva I bought her the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast Squinkies. She even has a set of Toy Story Squinkies as well. I love to display mine on my desk at work and across the top of my monitor. Eva likes to play with hers and act out parts of the movies.

With Squnkies Zinkies the small sized toys got even smaller and now come with little playsets to place the toys within and also included in the playsets are tweezers and a magnifying glass. Even with the small size there is still a decent amount of detail on the figures and they are cute to display. I gave Eva the choice of one of the sets to open. She chose the Tweetings Birdhouse. This one comes with cute little puppies, an alligator, a monkey, kitties and birds. There are 12 figures and they are all pretty cute and fun. Eva enjoys them. You can learn more about them below Continue reading Smaller than Small: Squinkies Zinkies Review

SwagsGiving 2 Giveaway: Bizu Bead Studio

What I have observed of little girls like my daughter, Eva, is that they like jewelry and playing dress up and having fun. They also like cute animals like dogs and cats as well as ponies and wild animals. While at time to Play I learned about Bizu, which is a beading activity that children can use to create bracelets, necklaces and then twist the bracelet into a poseable pet.
