Crash Bandicoot is a game that I never played. But I knew the character and he’s so in my brain that I will call the kids Crash Bandicoot when they stumble or smash into anything in the house. It has been my go to nickname forever and that is because Crash Bandicoot is in my collective unconscious. Well, now he’ll be in my Skylanders collection because he is coming to Skylanders Imaginators! While he is being released as part of a special PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 starter packs at launch ($99.99) I am sure that “at launch” means that his figure will be sold individually later in the release of the game. I know this because the Crash toy will be playable across all platforms in Skylanders Imaginators – the game where Portal Masters can unleash their imaginations to create an infinite number of unique Skylanders characters.
I’m also so excited that one of my favorite voice actors, Jess Harnell (lead singer of Rock Sugar and voice to countless characters) will be reprising his role as Crash. So Crash will maintain his his unique and quirky personality. Fans can look forward to his signature spin attack, as well as callbacks to his beloved past, including moves that incorporate exploding crates with 3-2-1 countdowns, wumpa fruit, jetpack attack from high in the air and more. As a Sensei, Crash’s Sky-Chi attack is the ability to use a yo-yo to yank his enemies into a spin attack! Crash will be a guest star in Skylanders Imaginators, where he will be fully playable as a Sensei character and brand-new toy. More about Crash’s Return below. I’ve been so caught up in playing Skylanders Battlecast that I didn’t even realize that a new Skylanders console game was on the way. The sixth iteration of the Skylanders franchise will be called Skylanders Imaginators. The concept is pretty amazing and I’m very excited about ever new innovation that Skylanders brings to the table. This time the major innovation is that Portal Masters (kids of all ages even big kids like me) can, for the first time, create their own Skylanders characters and play them in the game. There are so many different combinations of character parts to choose from that you could probably never even reach the end of the possibilities. I had a hard enough time swapping each and every Skylander from Swap Force to hit 256. Can you imagine not only tops and bottoms of the characters but heads, arms, legs and more. The possibilities are limited only to your imaginations. Take a look at the official trailer for Skylanders Imaginators!
That looks incredible. I am so excited to play. I know that the kids will want to spend hours on end creating new and exciting characters. That is something that kids have been asking for a while. Well, now it is a reality. Or it will be on October 16 when the game releases in the US. I have so many more details to share with you including some character images and toy images and the official press release. Keep reading after you see the image of the all new Starter Pack which is up for Pre Order already. The starter pack will be $74.99 but if you have Amazon Prime you can pre-order Skylanders Imaginators on Wii U for $59.99. (My affiliate link). You can get the game in many other consoles as well. Here’s what the Starter Pack looks like.
