Today we drove up to the Christmas Farm Inn. Last year we went and stayed at this Inn for the first time. It was a new family tradition that we were starting for the immediate family. Just Allison and I and the kids. We just wanted to get away and slow down for a couple of days. It was just what we needed and so when we got a message with prices at 50% off for this year we booked to come again. This time around we didn’t have to drive in a blizzard and the ride did not take 7+ white knuckled hours.
On the way up we stopped at the Poor People’s Pub once again. It is a total townie place but when I was a kid it was the best place to go and we loved it so much. I have such fond memories of this restaurant that I just have to take the kids there on these trips. Eva and I shared a pepperoni pizza, Allison got a meatball sub and Andrew a hot dog. The Macy’s Day Parade is a family tradition in many homes across America. It certainly is one in our home. Watching the parade and seeing the balloons float by is a big thrill. This year a Skylander is joining the ranks of those iconic Macy’s thanksgiving Day balloons. This time around it will be Eruptor the Lava spewing Fire Element Skylander who will be erupting all over the parade route.
To re-create Eruptor’s smoldering physique, artists used more than 40 gallons of florescent paint and five barrels of glitter! The live broadcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will begin at 9 a.m. all time zones on NBC. Here is a sneak peek of the Eruptor balloon.
The more I think about it, Eruptor is one character who makes sense as a balloon. Some would say that Spyro is more the iconic character of the series but Eruptor’s design lends itself very well to being a balloon figure. He has those rounded hands and feet. The only other Skylanders that I think would make good balloons in the parade would be Pop Thorn and Wrecking Ball. But Eruptor has been with the game from the beginning and he’ll make an excellent balloon in the parade. There is more information about the parade below.
