Unboxing Tonka Tinys

Tonka Tinys
Photo-A-Day #4160

We received some of the new Tonka Tinys from Funrise toys to play with and review. Opinions of these toys are 100% our own.

It was a rather lazy day around the house today. I ran out to do some errands this morning after a terrible night of sleep. I had to take care of a few things and when I got home my intention was to complete a bunch of reviews. Well, we got through a couple that were in the backlog, but then right before I went to try and get a little sleep I saw a box that was delivered and inside were 4 of the new Tonka Tinys. These are small Tonka toys that are in blind boxes. There are 22 to collect and they are $2.99 each. We got four different ones so there were no doubles, that was good.

I grabbed Andrew and brought him up to the newly cleaned out office. He helped me open up each of the Tonka Tinys and then talk about them. I think he was pretty happy with them and will enjoy playing with them. I like that the containers that they came in are like shipping containers and they can stack on each other and they can also attach side by side. This is a great way to keeping them nice and organized.

Here is the official description.

Toy Car Pileup

Photo-A-Day #3728

Today we went to our friend’s house for a play date and dinner. While we were there I was checking out the toys. There was a big pileup of NASCAR toy cars that I saw and wanted to shoot. When I went through the images I liked how the peanut M&Ms car looked.

We had a really nice time with our friends. The kids played well and we had a nice meal together.

Review / Giveaway: Modarri – The Best Miniature Cars You’ll Ever Play With… Ever

Eva with the cars

So… You pretty much already know how I feel about Modarri. I absolutely love them and they will be featured in my upcoming Holiday Gift guide titled, “The 10 Coolest Toys I Wish Existed When I Was 10”. I learned about these toys months and months ago and started looking into them, eventually helping to fund their wickedly successful Kickstarter Campaign and seeking them out at Toy Fair. When the opportunity arose for me to review these toys I jumped all over it even though I will be getting my own set of Modarri cars that I am expecting from my Kickstarter Rewards. But I got a set of Modarri car for review. The Street Car “S1,” Dirt Car “X1”, Track Car “T1” and the DIY car that we painted with nail polish. Opinions are 100% my own.

Modarri toy cars are the first toy line from Thoughtfull Toys. The toy line was 300% funded on Kickstarter and was officially launched at Toy Fair 2014. The cars will begin hitting retail stores very, very soon. I took my Modarri cars with me to work one night and all the guys were having a great time taking them apart and putting them back together in different combinations. Let me explain. Modarri cars are modular cars with parts that swap with each other. Here is what the cars look completely broken down into their component parts. Each modular car includes a chassis, hood/windshield, seat pan, seat, fenders and frame, hex tool, four wheels, front and rear suspensions and a hex tool for taking them all apart and putting them back together or better yet, mixing them up with other cars in the line.

Review: Motorworks Fuel N Shine Station & TR Convertible

Motorworks Fuel N Shine Station and TR Convertible

We received two fun new toys from MOTORWORKS™ from The Manhattan Toy Company® to play with and review. Opinions are 100% our own.

Andrew was my toy tester for this review. I had him for the whole afternoon and keeping a very active 2 1/2 year old happy and busy is tough. So, I have to keep finding thing to interest him. I brought out the MOTORWORKS™ Fuel-N-Shine Station and TR Convertible and he was engaged right away. He loved the car and couldn’t wait for me to get all the decals on the Fuel N Shine Station before he started to play. Continue reading Review: Motorworks Fuel N Shine Station & TR Convertible
