Christmas Decorating Day – Spider-Man Emergency Repairs

Spider-Man surgery
Photo-A-Day #4637

eva was having a sleepover and baking/crafting and who knows what else session with Auntie Tara last night into today. So, Andrew had us to himself today. We started the morning off together building one of his LEGO sets from his Birthday. He and I took turns doing each of the bags. He did a great job on it and his getting better and better with LEGO every time we play. I used the LEGO instructions online for one of the creator sets to make a LEGO Diplodocus. This was a 3 in 1 creator sets of dinosaurs. So as he built I took apart the dinosaur set and then rebuilt it.

After our building session we started cleaning the house for Christmas and I promised Andrew that after we cleaned the house we could build a huge track for the Tracer Racers. A few days ago we posted a video of these glow-in-the-dark tracer racers, part of the MAX TRAXXX line. The company liked our video so much that they went and sent us a ton of additional sets. The new super track is over 100 feet in length which the cars make short work of as they speed along. We did build a new track but that is later.

MAX RAXXX Super Track and Christmas Trees

We got the whole house cleaned up and the kids trimmed their little Christmas trees. I helped them as Allison washed and ironed our living room curtains. Each year the kids get one special ornament for their tree. Andrew’s ornament is Spider-Man. The kids were all excited and I was taking the ornament out of the box and it fell to the floor and the arms and legs of Spider-Man snapped off. Andrew was so upset. Eva immediately went into mom mode and took him to his room to help calm him. I took spidey downstairs and started surgery. So far his legs and one arm have been reattached. He should be better in a couple of days.

We enjoyed pizza, salad and a movie tonight together on the couch. We watched The Santa Claus for the first time and we all enjoyed it. the kids thought it was really funny. I enjoyed it as well.

After the movie we got to play with the new MAX TRAXXX super track that we built before dinner. The cars were all charged and the kids were, too. It was time to have fun and they certainly did. Check out the video below.

The whole set is fantastic and we had a lot of fun playing with it and reviewing it. You can purchase it through our Amazon.com links and if you do go to the stores that are approved by Skullduggery. Skullduggery has two great approved FBA sellers on amazon.com, Think Stores and 4% Change for Children. 4% Change for Children offers a $20 off coupon on the Infinity Loop Set every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday until Christmas, and the company each year donates 4% of its net profits from the prior year AND 4% of the company’s working hours to non-profit organizations that help children and families with children to learn, grow and live better lives.

Review: Spy Code: Operation Escape Room by Yulu

Operation Escape Room
Photo-A-Day #4520

We received a copy of the new game Spy Code Operation: Escape Room for free from Yulu to play with and review. Opinions are 100% our own.

escape rooms are popping up all over the place. Escape rooms have a series of challenges within that groups of people attempt to solve together. With Operation: Escape Room you and your kids can set up your own escape Room in your own home. With Operation: Escape Room you get a series of three challenges to complete. Each challenge requires a different set of skills: Dexterity, Problem Solving and a bit of Luck.

The objective: work together and complete three tasks in order to set the captured player free of the master belt before time runs out. First, choose a player to be captured. Place and lock the belt on the player and set the timer on the belt using the rotating dials. The game includes a series of three challenges, a Skill Challenge, Strategy Challenge and Luck Challenge.

The Skill Challenge requires players to wiggle a key out from the bottom of a cage using sticks. The Strategy Challenge uses cards divided into three levels of difficulty. Enter the card number into the device, solve the problem and then enter the answer into the same device. If the answer is correct, 1/3 rd of the key will come out. Players must solve three problems in a row in order to retrieve the key. If the answer is incorrect, the key will pop back into the device. In order to solve the final challenge, the Luck Challenge, players must insert the correct key into a device and spin it. They have three chances to find the key in the device. If players are unable to find the key, they must reset the spinner and start over.

You have to work quickly because there is a time limit to this challenge. This whole game can be modified to make it possible to allow children of various ages to work together. It is suggested that the timer be set for 60 seconds per challenge. The timer can be set for up to 999 seconds. When we first set up the game I set the timer for 300 seconds to give the kids some extra time. At first Eva was really put off by the game. The timer can be very distracting and nerve-wracking. It was a challenge for the kids to work together. They had a tough time at first but eventually they found a rhythm to work together. They kept at it for a wile and had a great time playing. The game is for ages 6+ and is available now at Target exclusively for $29.99. You can see more in the video below.

Unboxing Voltron Metal Defender Series from Playmates Toys

Form Sword
Photo-A-Day #4509

We received a package of new Voltron Metal Defender series toys from Playmates Toys to play with and review. These are my opinions alone.

I have to admit, I was walking the aisle of Target and saw that there were these new Metal Defender Voltron lions out for sale. These were diecast metal lions that combine to for Voltron. I saw that there was a set with all five of the lions together and so I asked my contact at Playmates Toys if I could get one to review. I did not get that one, instead I got a box that had all five individual lions in separate boxes. This was perfect! I was super excited wen I got home and they were there. These were the Voltron Toys I’d been waiting to see made. These lions work together to form an 8 inch Voltron. You can see how they all go together in my video below and then I have some photos of each lion and Voltron below.

The Kids Review It! Shark Bite from Goliath Games & Pressman Toy

Shark Bite Game
Photo-A-Day #4493

We received a new game from Goliath Games and Pressman Toy to play with and review. The opinions expressed are our own.

Shark Bite is a fun game where players take turns pulling fish out of the mouth of a shark. Play continues until the shark jumps up and chomps his teeth around the fish or the player fishing. I first played the game with Andrew. He and I played out on our front porch and had a great time anticipating who would cause the shark to jump up and bite.

Later on I took the game to the beach to take photos. We did not play there because I did not want to get any sand into the mechanism for the Shark. The kids wanted to play again later tonight and they convinced their auntie to play with them, too while I filmed. She was the one who caused the shark to jump in our video. Eva was scared of the shark jumping but she calmed down as they played. It was funny to watch, though. You can see everything in the video below.

Official Description:
Shark Bite: Get ready to have a REEL-y good time when you play Shark Bite! Players take turns rolling the die and fishing for the colorful sea creatures using the fishing rod. Watch out – you never know when the shark will bite!

Review: New Pokémon sets from Mega Construx

MEGAContrux Pokemon

We received some Mega Construx sets for free to play with and review. Opinions are 100% our own.

We received two sets to play with and they were the Charmander vs. Squirtle battle pack and the Machop and pokeball set. Andrew and I don’t really know much about Pokémon. I was older when ti came out and I never got into it. I wasn’t interested in the TV show or collecting the cards either. I do like building sets, and so when we were asked to review these I said sure.

MEGA Construx does a nice job of creating sets that feature current characters and properties like Despicable Me and the Minions and now Pokémon. The way that you can build each little Pokémon character is done nicely. You actually build the little heads of the characters rather then them being molded pieces. I like this because the heads go on with ball in socket connections so that you can move the heads all around. This makes for better poses while playing. Andrew built these sets himself and he did a great job following the directions with a little help. You can see more about each of the sets and also find a link to their official pages. The Kids Unbox IT! Pley Disney Princess July 2017 Rapunzel Mystery Box

Pley Mystery Disney Princess Surprise Box
Photo-A-Day #4490

This is our first ever Disney Princess Unboxing for Pley. Pley gave us a monthly subscription to the Disney Princess Box and I am also an affiliate.

This time around it is a box all about Rapunzel. Tangled was my daughter’s very first movie in the theater. Eva unboxes the Rapunzel box and it is filled with some great items that match Rapunzel’s (and Eva’s) personality so well.

Tangled was the very first movie that Eva ever saw in the theaters. We made a huge deal out of that first movie and it will always stick with me. That was seven years ago when Eva was 3 years old. She had just turned 3 a few days prior. I like to think that Tangled will always hold a special place in Eva’s heart. I think that Eva is very much like Rapunzel in that she is creative and artistic. She loved the art kit inside this box. We are looking forward to many more of these mystery boxes.

Iron Man Metal Fidget Spinner

Iron Man Metal Fidget Spinner

I can’t have a Captain America Fidget Spinner without an Iron Man one. The two just go together perfectly. This new fidget spinner arrived today and it is all metal and spins really well. It spins a lot longer than the Captain America one but the middle part is too loose for my liking. I want those triangles to stay in one place but they spin around a bit and do not line up perfectly. That drives me a little nutty. You can pick up these fidget spinners for cheap money on Amazon.com:
