Grab Bag

I have been busy

I have been so busy lately that I have not been able to do some decent posts about time wasters and fun stuff I have seen on the Internet or on TV.

first off I got my iPod and have since been loading it with every available podcast I can think of finding for all of my interests. I have found podcasts for comedy, nature, Photoshop and much more. I am going to look for some on motorcycles and kayaking and cooking as well. This crazy thing we call iTunes has been a lot of fun to explore. I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner, much much sooner. But I can change. I have embraced my previous Mac self. Yes, early on we had an Apple IIC and I loved that computer I spent hours working on Print Shop and animation studio and even a Toy Maker program. That was so much fun. I don’t think I’ll be trading in the PC computers anytime soon but I have forever disassociated myself with the notion of purchasing a Zune. It is all iPod for me now man.

Last night brought back the return of one of my favorite TV shows, PSYCH. I am so glad this show is back. I just love the chemistry between Shawn and Gus. Last night’s episode also had the guy who played Red Foreman on That 70’s Show as a friend of Shawn’s father and his daughter was played by the girl who was Ted’s girlfriend last season on How I Met Your Mother (the girl who was the baker). I also like how Shawn and Gus are about my age and like a lot of the cheesy 80’s stuff that I also like. The show is phenomenal so you have to check it out.

Let’s see I found a site through Pop Candy that allows you to make your own M&M’s character. So I went ahead and made a brown M&M character. Here is the character I made of me and the one I made for a Brown M&M.

Smallville in Langley…

Smallville

I’m in Langley, BC and this morning when I arrived at Langley hospital I saw that it was transformed into Smallville Medical Center. I learned that Smallville is filmed in Cloverdale, BC. That is a little ways away from Langley. It was a rare treat for me to see the film company setting up for a scene that will be part of and episode called “Resurrection” that will be airing here in BC on March 2, 2004.

During lunch I took a walk around the front of the building to see how the production was going. And while I was standing there and checking out the set up I took a few pictures. And as I waited I saw the arrival of John Schneider (Jonathan Kent) and Tom Welling (Clark Kent). I even took a picture but I was very far away from them to get a decent photo. But that is them in the red box.

The scene that they are filming is a simulated bomb threat and evacuation from the Smallville Medical Center. The room that I am conducting training in is right next to the room where all the extras are hanging out. So It’s pretty exciting. I guess that many of the hospitals actually subsidize their fund raising by letting film companies film at the hospital. So to everyone I’m training this is pretty old hat. But I’m the starstruck one.

I had wondered if I would be seeing any stars while I was in Canada. Seeing as this is an area where this are a lot of movies and TV shows being filmed. Here is another site for Smallville.
