One of the coolest things I’ve ever done as part of the Netflix #StreamTeam was to visit DreamWorks Animation Studios to see the very first episode of Voltron Legendary Defender. This was an incredible trip where I met and interviewed executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos and co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery right after seeing the pilot episode. Then later I got to interview one of my favorite voice actors ever, Josh Keaton. He was very cool. We met and talked about different TV apps before the interview. Josh plays Shiro in the show and his fate is uncertain for second season. I’d hate to see him go. Have you ever checked out Super Fan Builds? These are fun shows where amazing people build one of a kind collectibles for super fans. There is an episode out now on Go90 where Fon Davis builds these amazing Lion bikes for a father and son fan team. Fon Davis – who has worked on Star Wars and The Matrix – creates incredible custom Voltron Lion Bikes for a Voltron super-fan. You can see the whole episode on G090 – Super-Fan Builds – Go Voltron Bikes! which is really fun to see what the team makes.
I liked this because of the father and son. The dad was a fan of the original Voltron and the son is a fan of the new DreamWorks Voltron: Legendary Defender which is on Netflix. I’m glad that my kids are enjoying the show as well and can’t wait for the second season to start.
I also liked the Super Fan builds show because of the cool tech that is used to make the bikes. Vacuum form pieces and so much more. It is just so cool how people can create things like this. I will check out other episodes of this series to see what else the team can make.
