Photo-A-Day #3839

Today was a day off for the family. Eva and Allison were home from school and Andrew wasn’t at day care. I came home from work and the gym and slept for a while. When I woke up I brought down a bunch of toys that I got from Hasbro as part of the #ChooseLightSide / #ChooseDarkSide Program. I chose the light and so we got a bunch of rebel equipment. Much of it had to do with Chewbacca. I showed off my Black Series Chewbacca and Black Series Millenium Falcon. Well, I also got a Chewbacca Electronic Mask and Star Wars Nerf Chewbacca Bowcaster as well. I also received the Bladebuilders Jedi MAster Lightsaber and also another Extendable Lightsaber.

We tried out all the toys. Andrew took the Bowcaster and promptly shot all of the darts over the fences in the back yard. No matter what I said or showed him he still aimed the Nerf Bowcaster up too high and whoop, right over the fence. Eventually they all ended up in our neighbor’s yard and I’m not going over there. The ones that went the other way I went and picked up. I’m going to have to get some more darts and find somewhere else for him to shoot the bowcaster.

We had a lot of fun playing with the BladeBuilders set. In addition to the two lightsabers that were sent to us we also took apart the Inquisitor’s lightsaber and added that to the mix. It doesn’t quite work with the system but it worked well enough. We had lightsaber fights for the afternoon. Eva was getting upset over how big I was making the lightsaber. They were crazy huge and I kept making them. Pretty much every lightsaber I made would instantly result in self dismemberment.

Eva also modeled the Chewbacca mask for me. She also modeled the bowcaster before Andrew shot off all the darts.

We kept going with our Star Wars afternoon and had Star Wars movie night with Return of the Jedi. Overall the kids enjoyed it. There was the part with the Rancor that Eva covered her face for but otherwise she enjoyed it. Now she can watch the prequels, maybe. Maybe we’ll just stick with Star Wars Rebels. For now.
