I opened up my copy of USA Today this morning and went right to the Life section and on the front page of that section was an article about the upcoming Transformers movie (98 days and counting). The writers had a very interesting take on the story of the Transformers. They compared the Autobots and Decepticons to knights. They compared Optimus Prime to King Arthur and that is a very good comparison. I don’t know why I never saw that parallel before. Some of my favorite books are those on Arthurian legend. When I was a kid I never thought of the Transformers in those terms because they were pretty much about getting energy.

I think that the movie is going to be even better if I approach if from that of gallant knights on a quest for the AllSpark. I haven’t had a problem with the changes that have come about with the characters in the movie. I can see Optimus Prime as King Arthur. The King Arthur of legend who was completely pure of heart and good. That is always what Optimus Prime will be for me. I just can’t wait for this movie to come out.

Movie posters have come out today depicting Optimus Prime and Megatron in profile. Under Optimus Prime it says “Protect” and under Megatron it says “Destroy”. Looking at these posters you can think of knights of old in their battle masks. This movie is going to be an incredible thing to watch.

Expect to see the TV spots coming out very soon. There will be a huge media blitz for this movie. I can’t wait.
