We received the Michelangelo Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Power Sound FX Combat Gear to play with and review. Opinions are 100% our own. We are big fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and love getting the chance to review as many of the toys as we can. We also enjoy role play toys to play pretend. This set went perfectly with the turtle shell that we already had. Andrew really enjoyed playing with these toys and pretending to be Michelangelo.

Michelangelo Power Sound FX Combat Gear

The set comes with a character mask/bandana and a throwing star with Mikey’s face on it. The main item in the set is a set of nunchuks that make all sorts of battle sounds as you swing them around.

We took the toys right outside so that Andrew could swing them around without hitting anything. Of course I got into the mix with some other role play toys that we have and battled with Andrew. However, I think he may be a little too young for this set even though it is for ages 4+. The nunchuks are made from hard plastic. Andrew swings for the fences and he blasted me in the knee once. It is hard to fight against a kid half your size and block his swings without hitting him, too.

Despite being smacked in the knee by and exuberant almost 4 year old (1 month away) we had some fun. I think we’ll have to pick up the Donatello set so that we can continue to battle. Or maybe the Raphael one. But knowing how hard Andrew plays I may get him some of the Half-Shell Heroes role play toys which are foam.
