The other day I put extension tubes on my Nikon D80. Then I asked the question of whether or not I should add the Close up Filters to that setup as well. So, Today at Souther New England Media Makers I put on the Extension Tubes, Close up Filters and the Macro Add on Lens. I shot a few things including the color place mat at breakfast and a crocus in the front yard. The thing about using the tubes is that you need to have a lot more light. shooting outside is fine but shooting inside I used the Sima light. Outside I think I had too much light but because I was shooting practically on my stomach and not seeing very well what I was getting I tried and shot, tried and shot. I tripod really should be used if you want any sort of sharpness to your photos. I hand held these.
This is a close up of a shot of a color place mat at breakfast. See how it clearly shows the dots used to print the place mat.
Here is another part of that same place mat.
While I was there telling everyone about what I had been doing this month I had a few photos taken of me and my setup.
Steve Sherlock also shot a photo of my camera from today. Here is a link to that photo.
After SNEMM I went to LA Roberts to catch up with Allison and Eva. Uncle Howard and Nana Bonnie took them out for brunch and to visit with Dora the Explorer. Eva had a great time but I think Uncle Howard had the best time of all.
This afternoon Allison, Eva and I worked on a special project that I’ll be posting about later in the week.

That top one is very cool! Is that the crocus? It almost looks like a lizzard.
Deborah,
That is the crocus. No lizards around here.
