My cousin Nick graduated from High School today. He went to Upper Cape Technical and he’s off to college later this year. Nick is also my godson and I am so proud of him graduating. I went to the Graduation with my Mom and Dad and I, of course, took my camera. I got a pretty decent spot to catch him as he left the stage with his diploma.
After the graduation we swung by the house and picked up Allison and Eva. We then headed over to my grandfather’s house for a graduation party for Nick.
It was really weird being in the house with Grandma not there. I went into her room and expected sort of to see her in her bed. I knew that was ridiculous but it was the first time I had been over since she passed away. Grandpa is doing okay, he has a dog to keep him company, the dog is a little wiener dog named lady.
One thing that I wanted to do for Nick but things didn’t come together as I had hoped, was to give him an e-book by Ed Gerety. The book is called College Crossroads and I thought it would be a wonderful thing to give to Nick on a Flash drive along with the photos I took at the graduation. I gave nick the flash drive and the photos but had some trouble getting the book, I’ll have to give it to Nick later this summer before he heads to school. We also hooked him up with a Bookstore giftcard to help him buy books for school. If they are anything like the books I had to buy he’s gonna need all the money for them he can get.
Gratz to Nick! Yes those books are extremely costly. I’m sure he appreciated the GC.

Baba,
I’ll put it this way, if he didn’t appreciate them yesterday he’ll certainly appreciate them when school starts. Books are very expensive.
Wow!! Thanks!!! 😉
Best of luck to Nick – it’s a crazy world to be graduating into.

You are welcome Mo, sending some business your way.
James,
Ain’t that the truth.
Haha…I meant thanks for making digs about my business…it’s ok though…I’m not in the mood to declare a fight:)
Mo,
No digs intended but books are expensive. That is a fact that my wallet knew in 1992-1996 can’t imagine that they’ve gone down since then. 🙂
They are…I wholeheartedly agree…I wish there was something more that could be done:(
Well, if the Amazon kindle works out then we may see a drastic reduction in book prices. I want one of those.
Great pic of Nick, it’s hard to believe he’s almost 18 and graduating from high school. He will get a lesson real soon about how much thing cost. I wish him the best and hope he does well.
Dad,
I have a hard time believing it myself. The real world is coming Nick.
