Will Fox Give ‘Second Chance’ A First Chance – Vlog 4

Photo-A-Day #3921

Finn and Captain Phasma

While today’s vlog doesn’t have anything to do with Star Wars I couldn’t really photograph much about the TV show Second Chance or Marco Polo. I’ve been thinking about Star Wars: The Force Awakens and specifically the Stormtrooper who calls Finn a Traitor and then beats the heck out of him. That could have been what Captain Phasma could have been. I was expecting so much more out of Captain Phasma.

Vlog Translation:

Hey it’s Drew Bennett from BenSpark.com and today is day four of my vlogging every day for 2016. I didn’t say 2006 this time. Yesterday I was really out of it. Really had a lot of missed sleep. Even though today I got home from work and only got two hours of sleep. It is now about 7 o’clock and we just put the kids to bed. Monday is kind of strange. I was trying to think of when I should record these videos on Mondays. Should I do them right when I get home, should I do them at night before I get to bed. Tonight because I just didn’t get it done earlier in the day. Am I going to start recording some stuff about what is going on around the house. Are we going to see more of the family. Probably eventually over time we will see how it goes.

Mondays are also kind of rough. It is the one day a week where I’m coming home and everyone is going off their separate ways in the morning. School. My son goes to daycare which at this point right now he doesn’t want to go on Mondays. This is a big source of problems on Mondays because he just cries when he gets there and it’s a strain on everybody ’cause he’ll cry and he’ll get upset. Then I’ll get a text saying that he broke down. Then I’ll feel guilty about going to sleep because I could watch him but then of course I could not get any sleep after working and then I end up feeling guilty and I don’t get any sleep anyways. But anyway it’s not exactly what I want to talk about today. I want to talk about a couple of TV shows.

Really like a lot of TV shows. I’m a big fan of television. I’m watching quite a few of them at one time. I just started watching the pilot episode of a new show on FOX called ‘Second Chance’. The thing about ‘Second Chance’ on Fox or Fox in general as far as television shows is that if I like it it’s gonna get cancelled. Shows like Firefly, Wonderfalls, Dollhouse, all those things hit FOX and then they get cancelled. I don’t want to put too much into thinking about this show or what I don’t want to get too invested into it because it’s on FOX and at any moment it could get tanked. Another one that I really liked, the Finder, I really liked that one it was pretty good. Anyway, I watched the first one, the pilot episode, it was pretty good.

It is basically about this 75 year old sheriff who is murdered and is brought back younger, apparently taller, I go by the actor’s heights, 6 inches taller. Way more muscular than he was when he was younger. Stronger, can hear better can see better. Basically all these things that have improved with this process of bringing him back to life. It’s interesting because there is this corporation in it and I believe it is called Looking Glass. It is a Social Media corporation that is sort of like a combined Google and Facebook and it is also so prevalent, it is everywhere and it also is tapped in and spies on people. With a reason that you will find in the show. Basically they are looking for a match. The Looking Glass is created by these pair of twins Otto and I believe Mary. I had to call up IMDB to make sure because I wasn’t remembering everything.

Otto and Mary are twins. One of the twins, Otto, he cannot interact with the world. He interacts through his sister. They have this twinspeak or whatever. But he’s a genius and he creates Looking Glass. And he also creates this process to reanimate or bring people back. It starts with animals and fish and things like that and he jumps right to people because he is trying to find a match, someone who can help save his sister who has cancer, inoperable cancer. That is where the sheriff, Jimmy Pritchard comes in, he’s an old time sheriff that has a son who is an FBI agent. His son is played by Tim DeKay who played an FBI agent in the TV show White Collar, named Peter Burke. I really liked him and that is what got me to watch this show. He’s an FBI agent in this one and his son, I’m sorry his father who comes back but he can’t really tell anyone that he’s back. Of course he’s probably gonna find out eventually in the first, second season, whatever. But it’s interesting, it was a fun show to watch.

With shows like Bones on it’s 11th season. I mean, how much further is that going to go. They need to find something that will replace shows like that. This has possibly, the potential to go on for a while and maybe fill in that sort of gap. Who knows, we’ll see. But I’m not putting too much faith into it yet because it is on Fox and could be cancelled at any moment. It doesn’t tell me when the next episode is gonna be. Right now the pilot is online On Demand and it doesn’t really have any dates for when the show actually comes out, it’s not in IMDB. I’m sure it can be somewhere else but not on IMDB.

(Yawn) Excuse me, getting tired.

The other show that I really got into is on Netflix. It’s called ‘Marco Polo’. I didn’t start watching that until last night, today and I couldn’t stop watching. That is probably one of the reasons why I wasn’t sleeping so well. I just finished watching this previous season of Da Vinci’s Demons on STARZ and I kinda wanted something similar. This is kinda based on historical, Marco Polo in the court of Kubla Khan, Kublai Khan. Really an interesting show. I really like the blind master with 100 Eyes. 100 Eyes is his name. They just came out with a half hour kind of how that guy came to be. I don’t exactly when that was released but I just saw that yesterday on Netflix. I figured I’d start watching Marco Polo. I’m 5 episodes into the 10 episode season. I really, really like it. It is some cool stuff. Good acting, amazing sets it’s pretty awesome. There’s a whole bunch of other shows that I like watching but those are the ones that I wanted to talk about today. I’m sure I’ve got plenty more to talk about in other days as we go along in this vlog a day for 2016. So this is Drew Bennett from BenSpark.com.
