Review – Playmobil NHL Hockey Arena

We received a Playmobil NHL Hockey Arena to play with and review. Opinions of the arena are 100% my own.

While we are not the biggest sports people around, we do enjoy sports toys. When we were offered the chance to review the Playmobil NHL Hockey Arena we were so excited to try it out. Andrew was jumping all around wanting to play as soon as I opened the box. Putting it together was very easy with minimal directions. That is a great thing about Playmobil toys, they consistently go together quickly and easily. I was done with the major assembly in less than 15 minutes. Then I applied the stickers one half of the arena at a time so that Andrew could play with the hockey players while I worked.

Speaking of stickers, the hockey arena has official NHL logo stickers and logo decals of all the 30 NHL teams. The toy looks sharp. I applied one of the Bruins’ logo decals to center ice as well as another NHL logo. Now I’m thinking that we should be on the lookout for some more Bruins players to play with. I made a little video of us using the Playmobil NHL Hockey Arena.

3D Print Your Own Skylanders Imaginators with the Skylanders Creator™ App

Skylanders Creator App Opening Screen

The biggest news ever in the world of Skylanders has been released today. With the new Skylanders™ Creator App players can create their very own fully playable 3D printed figures! In addition they can use the app to create full color, fully playable cards of their creations and full color t-shirts with their character printed on them. The cost may be a bit high ($49.99 for figure, $14.99 for card and $24.99 for t-shirt) so it is unlikely that you’ll 3D print all of your awesome creations. However, when you create something so utterly incredible in the Skylander Creator™ App you’re going to want to print at least one. The 3D printed figures say that they are limited quantities and I’m not sure exactly what that means. does it mean that at a certain point no one else can make 3D printed figures or is it that you can only make a certain number of the same figure, so that you aren’t out there trying to sell your creation. I don’t know but I do know that it is pretty cool and I definitely want to try it.

In addition to the information about the Skylanders Creator™ app there is news about another contest. There will be a Skylanders 3D Printed Contest. Starting Oct. 24, Portal Masters can win the opportunity to receive their custom 3D-printed Imaginator figure via a global Skylanders 3D-printed Imaginator contest. To participate, fans are encouraged to create an Imaginator in Skylanders Imaginators or using the Skylanders Creator app. Shared creations on social media channels using the dedicated #CreatorContest will be automatically entered to win. that is really cool and I’ll be participating for sure!

There is even more news below in the full press release plus some screen shots of the Skylanders Creator™ app and also a 3D printed figure and also a printed game card. Continue reading 3D Print Your Own Skylanders Imaginators with the Skylanders Creator™ App
