Today we went to LA Roberts so that we could have brunch with Santa. My brother-in-law’s father, Uncle Howard, is Santa there for two weekends close to Christmas. He dresses like an old world Santa and carries a carved walking stick. They set up a giant seat for Santa and a great Christmas tree as well as a large bag of toys for the kids who come to the brunch. They even had a balloon artist on site making hats.
Brunch was delicious there were so many choices including an omelette bar. All brunches should have omelette bars. There was even strawberry shortcake for dessert. We went with my parents and they got a huge kick out of Eva enjoying Santa.
We were all pretty excited watching Eva’s interaction with Santa. If she knew it was Uncle Howard, she did not let on at all. Santa told Eva that he and Mrs. Claus had gotten her the Fishing pole and backpack that she had asked for for Christmas. She was so excited. We had a great brunch and a lot of laughs.
After brunch Allison and I went to the Winter Farmer’s Market and Eva went and spent time with my Mom and Dad. While she was there my sister Tara came in. Tara asked Eva who she saw today. She said, ” Uncle Howard dressed up as Santa.” Which completely shocked my Dad and sister (and us when they told us) but then she said, “But he was Santa”. She’s such a smart kid. She never ever let on that she knew that Howard was Santa. And whenever we asked her later what she did today, she said that she saw Santa. There was no other mention of Uncle Howard, just Santa. that pretty much blew us away.
Here is the rest of the photos that I took at Santa Brunch.

Mom and I really enjoyed the time with Eva. She was big help decorating the tree. I couldn’t believe it when she told Tara it was Uncle Howard.
We enjoyed your company as well. I have an entire set of photos from yesterday and you can find them here – http://www.flickr.com/photos/abennett96/sets/72157625635473688/
