On the day after Thanksgiving my Dad puts up his Christmas tree at the Cape house. This year Eva helped him trim the tree. She loves decorating Christmas trees but she loads branches with everything, doesn’t spread stuff out. This is something that kids do, if one ornament is pretty then 57 are prettier. Today was not only Thanksgiving but it was also Andrew’s first birthday. He came home from the hospital on his first Thanksgiving and on his second one he nearly ate and entire turkey (okay, maybe not that much but he packed it away). That boy can eat, and smile and laugh and he took four unaided steps today too. I can’t believe how much he has grown and changed in one short year. I am so thankful that I took (and Allison also) a photo each day of him during his first year.
