Mr. Potato Head Mix & Mash Optimus Prime

Photo-A-Day #3339

We were sent an Optimus Prime themed Mr. Potato Head Mix & Mash toy to play with and review. Opinions expressed are 100% our own.

When I went to Toy Fair 2014 I was able to get a first look at the Mr. Potato Head Mix & Mash line. These smaller Mr. Potato head figures are a two inch scale figure with various Marvel and Transformers costumes to put on. We received the Optimus prime one which included Optimus’ helmet, arms and chest, feet, smokestacks, truck cab and truck body. That is everything you would need to play with Optimus as a truck or a robot and even in between transformations as shown in the image above.

Andrew was my toy tester for the day. We opened a few Transformers toys and he was most excited for this one because it was so easy to change Mr. Potato head over and over.

Showing off Mr Potato Head Optimus Prime

We have a full sized Mr. Potato head as Optimus Prime. We had gotten it at the premiere of the Transformers movie in 2007. I think I may have kept one in the box. The other one is int he family room and Andrew has played with that many times. I think that is why he took to this toy so quickly especially since it was perfectly sized for his little hands.

Mix and Mash Packaging

Like I said earlier, there are a bunch of Transformers and Marvel characters that will be part of this line. The package shows Optimus Mashed with Starscream. I think it would be a lot of fun to be able to take a bunch of these parts and make all sorts of characters across both franchises.

Mix and Mash Optimus

This was a fun little toy for the smaller kids. Great for little hands and the price is decent, too. a simple set is under $5 and a larger set like this Optimus one is under $7. There are more to come and that includes one of Grimlock in both robot and dinosaur modes. The dinosaur mode is larger and looks very cool. There is even a spot for smaller tater bots to ride just like Optimus rides Grimlock in the Transformers: Age of Extinction movie.
