Photo-A-Day #4229
Activision sent me a mess of Skylanders back before the launch of Imaginators. I have been posting them as often as I can but I’m behind and I really want to play with the ones I have and so I’m opening them to play with them. As far as making walkthrough and gameplay videos I am even further behind. Making gameplay videos takes a long time and as I wait till I have time I’m missing out on playing with the characters. So, I will make them later one. For the time being I’ll do some unboxing videos and reviews of the figures in my posts.
The character above is Master Starcast. He is a Ninja from the Dark Element. There is a special chase variant figure that is out there that is clear. I want it but I haven’t found it anywhere. The last clear character I ever found was the Trap Master Tuff Luck. That was at Target and I just got lucky. I am hoping to get lucky again. After the video I have more information of the additional characters that I opened today. I then played with all of them to get a fee for their fighting styles. Starcast can move around on top of a giant throwing star and then he is also able to toss four stars at once.
As far as the creation crystals that I opened I decided to make a Water Sorcerer and a Magic Sentinel. I take a look at what kind of characters there are for each of the elements and make sure that whenever I create a new character their battle class is different then the other characters that are part of the game.
Master Ambush is an interesting character. He is a Life element Skylander of the Knight Battle Class. His dress is very much that of a Martial Arts master and he has some very cool moves. There is one move that he has called A Leaf of the Wind. That is clearly a reference to Firefly and that is very cool. I like the way that Ambush looks and he has such an enormous sword. You can see him below.
Then we get into the villains. The villains are pretty cool and I am excited that there are now figures for these characters. Hood Sickle was one of the best characters that came out of Trap Team. I’m glad that he has a figure now. His moves are really cool as well. That double ended sickle of his is vicious!
Tae Kwon Crow is a ninja sensei of the fire element. He has some great throwing stars and he can even summon buzzer beak to come and fight alongside. He can also summon a giant Buzzer Beak later in the game. I like that this figure incorporates previous villains as well. That is a good thing since we won’t be getting figures of all the villains of Trap Team. But then again it is a good thing because there were a ton of them in Trap Team.
So far I am really impressed by the new Skylanders Imaginators game. There is so much to do in the game and while I know that there are people who have already played through and “beat” the game they haven’t explored all there is to offer in the game. That is what I like more about this game, the ability to explore everywhere and then to create a ton of great new characters. There are literally billions of combinations with the amount of items you can choose from to create your imaginator. So, keep playing friends. Keep playing.
